At Salthaven, we’re weighing baby ducklings twice a day to make sure they are gaining weight. But sometimes they need a little extra tube feeding to help keep them on track.
In the wild, ducklings will spend only about one day in the nest after they hatch. That’s why they hatch with feathers and their eyes open as they’ll soon have to feed themselves.
Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre is committed to the care and rehabilitation of sick, injured, orphaned or otherwise compromised wildlife; our goal is to return healthy animals to their natural habitat. Through education, we are dedicated to increasing public awareness about the issues affecting Canadian Wildlife.
