Thanks for your very clear overview. I thought a lot about this for my Interceptor. My main concern isn't practical, but whether work like this - however well executed - would give my insurance company an excuse to deny payment or cover. I'll talk to my agent next time I renew. Guess this may be a bigger issue in the UK.

My insurance is only liability, If I wreck my own bike, it's on me.

That tape looks great stuff Robert.....whats its intended use. Love to go tubeless on my 2020 T100 Bonnie. I'm like you sir....I do all my own tyre work....always have.....cars and my old landrover as well. Not had to take a tyre off my bonnie yet.....seem a very very stiff wall....not sure how easy that will be. Nick from the UK.

Intended use of the tape is patching metal roofs, drain pipes, etc...

I like the idea of tubeless spoke tires but how will you tighten the spokes without destroying the airtight seal when they eventually loosen?

The tape is so thick that I don't think turning the nipples will break the seal. But, Since you made the point, I will be sure to check for loose spokes each time I change a tire.

We have had several days over 100 degrees recently. My tires are not leaking. Have also run this at highway speeds, up to about 85, with no problems.

Watched one from a few years ago. He stated that the ride on actually ate up the gorilla tape after a few months or so.

I broke it down to change tires after 2500 miles, had Balance beads in it, the tape is still near perfect. Replaced the knobbies with street tires for an extended road trip. I am now 850 miles into a 3000 mile trip. Have had no problems with the tires. I seldom need to add air. Balance beads are awesome.

Just finished a 3000 mile trip on this bike. No issues. Did not even need to add air. Different strokes, man!

@@BobKramer51 It's not like the tyre is going to explode...... more risk of a dramatic event with a tube. Worst case you have to top it up regularly and you get tired of it and have to go back to tube. I like this guy's idea as well. kzitem.info/news/bejne/l2aYz2Woa4qnlaQsi=fgc3NXWGV2ORK9za Could do both, belt and braces! 😄, put gunk into the tyre, 3 step security! Always check your air pressure. My tip is do your checks the night before, when I wanna go I already wish it was an hour earlier and last thing I want to do is delay more with more checks - if pressure drops overnight in a garage it would have been flat the first time.

Next time I break these wheels down, I'm going to try a hybrid, Tube and Tape. I have an idea.....
