The reason I started my channel was because I watched John talk about the Turbo Grafx 16. I couldn’t believe there was someone out there that appreciated this machine the way I did. It’s always been my goal to introduce as many people as I could to the amazing TG-16 and PC Engine library. That is why this TG-16 mini and it’s game selections are so important. It’s a great honor to be mentioned on this program along side Chris (whose channel is criminally undersubbed,...much like mine;). I wish I had a turbo Tap with a cord long enough to reach to Canada, so we could drink too much and play Dungeon Explorer all night!! P.S... the T-shirt reeks of class!

bithead is a legend.. the best channel recommendation youtube has ever made back almost 10 years ago... the balancing stacks of games game, drinking half gallon beer mugs of water to dilute the hangover, garage sale-ing in hurricane katrina, making genesis sports game smoothies in the blender, the stories, the vehicles with torn ceiling upholstery, the invincible wheel chair toy, the hydraulic guillotine, the insane frog tape spray painting... class act.

You and Bithead are the best! What I would've given to run into either of you back in the day... My Turbo Grafx story is when the the system was first announced (as a promotion I'm assuming no doubt) they had dozens of kiosks around the local mall here in CT with the console and various games hooked up free to play for anyone interested. It was an awesome day for me and my buddy and a great vivid memory to this day. As a young gamer seeing and being able to play Fighting Street, Vigilante, Legendary Axe, Ys1and2, Keith Courage, Blazing Lazers had me sold. I guess you can say the promotion worked for me!

Bubblegum Crash that’s fine. Look into Classic Gaming Quarterly (CGQ) and his 2nd Channel CGQ+ if you haven’t already. He makes great flashback videos on the 2nd channel and is very chill. As for BitHead1000, there’s a reason why HCG (and CGQ also) co-sign/watch the guy. They are all online YT friends etc because they can relate to one another. If you can’t that’s fine but don’t act like you’re the only one on the net that doesn’t see the appeal. No offense but just don’t be “that” guy. Take it easy and enjoy CGQ and CGQ+ at least. Pc

Johnny, another reason I appreciate your channel and you as a person, is you don’t make clickbait or negative videos. KZitemrs think that’s what you have to do today to get clicks, and some of my favorite channels have become unwatchable because of it and I’ve unsubscribed. Even though you’re not happy with the games being released, you still have an amazing attitude towards the PC Engine/TurboGrafx 16 minis being released. You also have the right spirit, “I’m not happy with the missing games, so I’m just going to fix it”. It’s so refreshing in a sea of “angry rant” videos and clickbait titles. Keep doing what you do.

Wow... I know I'm 2 days late to this video, but wow.... I just wanted to say that having been part of this wonderful KZitem Gaming community for over a decade, I've seen a lot of gaming channels come and go. In all of that time there are some channels that I stopped watching for one reason or another (usually because of time constraints as I get older) but I really felt a certain way when you mentioned Spida1a. I remember watching his videos years ago and falling in love with the Turbo Grafx having never played it before. This video really hearkened back to the good ol' KZitem days when people would support each other and name drop other channels in their videos to help fellow KZitemrs grow their fan base. Thanks so much for reminding me that Spida1a is still going strong, and for bringing that little piece of KZitem nostalgia to the foreground again. I wish more people would do shoutouts like this, and I really hope you continue to do this going forward!

@@videogamepolak0 Apparently sometimes the people who made/pirated the ROM add 'intro screen signatures' to their games (so this screen comes up before you actually go to the game's title screen). The ROM still works fine, but most people don't want the intro. I've never actually seen one on an NES ROM (because I always just download individual ROMS, not sets), but I've seen quite a few on some of my C64 ROMs. Personally I don't get having 'every game', anyway...what's the point in having 100s of games you'll never play? It just wastes my time as I try and scroll through them to get to the games I want to play.

Been subscribed to both BitHead1000 and Spida1a for years; cool dudes, great content. I follow a lot of gaming KZitem channels, but I relate more to the channels with guys around my age. Naturally, it makes sense with shared generational experiences and all; but its also about being able to relate on nostalgia level. There's a big difference between the younger generation appreciating classic games, and having lived through that era. No disrespect to the younger people, I'm glad a lot of them find value in the old games; but you can't quite grasp how awesome it was to be a kid in the 80's and early 90's when game like Street Figther 2, Sonic 1 or Super Mario Bros. 3 were released.

That's exactly how the Playstation Classic got fixed for me. Just modded it with more than 100 games and i can't stop playing it. And it only costed me 30$ because the price dropped in every shop in my country a month ago.

Love the tg-16. Didn't have a lot of money growing up, but I did have a tg-16. Never owned the CD add-on sadly. Never got to play legendary axe or sf2 on the system either. Owning a tg-16 is one of my fondest childhood memories. Can't wait for the mini. Hope I can get one.

Splatterhouse is on Namco collection for Nintendo switch. I’m willing to bet Nintendo has exclusivity for a little while. Who knows though

Thank you for the suggestions of the two TG16/PCE channels. It's a console I didn't own when it was current but one I have a lot of love for.

Well I'm a fan! This is truly my favorite classic system. I'm happy to know there are not of us out there.

My dad had a TurboGrafx 16 when I was a kid and he had the CD player, spent so much time playing that thing, might get him one of these and hack it to put all the games on it.

Hah! I have both the NES and SNES classic and I modded them both myself. Took me about an hour to do both units. Best thing I've done in a long time LOL.

I was one of Two in my community in SF who had a Turbo Grafx. If fact I had 4 over my life time that I eventually sold, and now ...... I’m not paying those prices... Gonna use the Johnny solution .... 😉

I buy these classic minis, and after I mod them, I dont even play them lol. It's just so fun trying to hunt down the games I think of, games I enjoyed, games I never got to play...the only game on my mind when I modded my ps Classic was Policenauts
