Turkish Cheese Chicken
Ingredients:
Boneless chicken - 500 g
Salt- 2tsp
Black pepper powder - 1tsp
Red chilli powder - 1.5 tsp
Cummin powder - 1 tsp
Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
Thick Curd - 1/4 cup
Tomato ketchup - 1/4 cup
Oil - 2 tbsp
For the White sauce
Refined flour - 3 tbsp
Butter - 3 tbsp
Milk - 1 cup
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Black pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
Oregano - 1 tsp
Processed cheese/ mozzarella - 3/4 cup
Corriander/ parsley - 1/4 cup
Chilli flakes - 1 tsp
Method:
• Wash and drain the chicken pieces.
• Marinate the chicken for one hour with salt, pepper powder, red chilli powder, cummin powder,cinnamon powder, ginger garlic paste,curd and tomato ketchup.
• Heat oil in a pan.
• Put the chicken and cook on medium heat.
• Stir occasionally.
• Cook until the chicken is done and the marination paste has almost dried up.
White sauce:
• Heat butter in a pan
• Add refined flour
• Stir on medium low heat for about a minute.
• Add milk in portions
• Keep stirring continuously to avoid formation of lumps.
• Cook until the mixture starts boiling .
• Season it with salt , pepper powder and oregano.
• Pour the white sauce on the chicken.
• Add the cheese and chopped coriander on the top.
• Sprinkle some chilli flakes.
• Cover the pan and cook until the cheese melts.
• Relish the chicken with pita bread/ garlic bread/spaghetti.
