Short tutorial to using Target Reference Points (TRPs) to assist in missile engagement.
The first method was previously shown in the tutorial series (#8). Use when when sending missiles complex navigational paths or if you cannot see the enemy ship. TRPs are used as a visual reference, the missiles do not interact with the waypoint. Uses the sphere tool.
The second method is the intended game mechanic from the Developer. Use when you can see your target and dont need complex navigational paths. Added benefit, as the ship moves the missiles will move to track. Missiles interact with TRP. Limited to using one TRP waypoint. Point and click targeting.
Why use TRPs? Use them to navigate around terrain or to navigate your missile salvo around or out of the reach of the point defence of an enemy fleet.
