I am 9 weeks post-op. Due to a metal allergy, I did not get staples. My incision was closed with dissolving stitches and glue. I’m doing well overall but my scar still feels tight and I have (what I call) zappers. It feels like a bee sting or really big mosquito bite that you feel, near the scar. I’m wondering if this could be from the undissolved stitches and how long it might last. Also, sleep is still really bad. Getting about 3 to 4 1/2 hours a day. I’m so glad I had this done because it will get better. It’s just still kinda tough. Thanks for your video.

Thank you for this - and others of yours I've watched/listened to very carefully. They help considerably, not only with information, but calming me down. Thanks again.

What a great, informational video! Thank you, Dr. Rosen. My LTKR has been scheduled twice and rescheduled both times. I have a new surgeon and surgery date #3! Third time’s a charm. Everything happens for a reason. I really appreciate the time and effort you have put into all your knee replacement videos. In this one I appreciate the reasons behind stopping meds and supplements. The nurse I talked to told me stop taking X or your surgery will be cancelled. And that was it. So . . . I appreciate you! ❤

Second time watching. Tkr tomorrow, 7/27/2022. I'll be good. Been working out for a long time recovering from a head on crash with a semi. Comminuted breaks in my femur and tibia. Two breaks in my fibula. Broke the patella. I will use my custom orthotic for foot drop so it'll be quite an experience! Thank you for the info.

Such wonderful information as so much mirrors what I’ve been told. Thank you Dr Rosen. I’m having the Stryker Mako robotic procedure on my right knee (TKR) on 12/27. The hospital I’m going to is a very small physician owned facility which I’m excited about and have heard good things about from people in my community. About 2-3 weeks ago I was setup on a patient portal that appears to be a partnership between the hospital and Stryker. I has been amazing thus far and very helpful as I prepare. Although I’m doing the exercises, I work out at the fitness club about 3-5 times a week for about 9 months so far and have been thrilled with my lower and upper body strength, flexibility and stability. The owner of the club told me yesterday that about 5 members have had TKR or hip replacement and have done exceedingly well because they workout. The only bad thing is I won’t be able to go back there for a couple of months. Once again, thank you for the information you provide. It has been invaluable to so many.

Really good information, thanks. Have you made knees where there were bone cysts around the knee? How do you get the metal attached if there are cavities in the bones? I like your Stephen King books :-) Merry Christmas from Denmark

Cysts are common in arthritis. Usually bone cement can fill the voids. If the cysts are large occasionally stems are needed like in a revision (watch the revision video). If you like Stephen King check out Meg Gardiner.
