There was a time when comedians were funny without being 'edgy' or crude, creative without drawing on their 'lived experience', respected without being politically 'correct', and didn't try to make their audience critique themselves. I'd almost forgotten those golden years. I went to a comedy show recently, paid a fortune, travelled for hours, queued in the cold, watched it on TV screens because the arena was so vast that the performer might as well've been a galaxy in the night sky. If I'd watched it at home, the experience would've been better. I waited in anticipation for the funniest, most intelligent and hardest working comedian of our time, IMO. Well, I should have arrived 15 minutes after the performance started, because thatbtime was wasted with the obligatory left wing political satire. Bill Brydon, if you are reading this, it's been done to death by every comedian since Margaret Thatcher first became PM. Stop flogging a dead horse, it's not funny any more. I respect your opinions as much as anyone's, but it's time that comedians showed some respect for the majority that votes our governments in. I used to love satire, but it's had its day. Today, going to a comedy show is like going a random concert. Where once you got Beethoven or The Beatles, today you get grime or Adele swearing at you. Time to change the record...

There is a depth of set theory and logic in this sketch as well as a play on meaning / semantics. The null set idea and logical operations on negation spring to mind. This formal language is then mixed in with the informal semantics of English phrases like " Lord knows" which can mean nobody ( whatever nobody is technically it should ne not any body) knows or can be the given name of a Lord.
