@ayt…I’ve just seen this video… as a side sleeper, I know why I keep getting pinched nerves in my neck and shoulders (crick)! So how am I supposed to sleep? Do I have to sleep on my back? Flat or pillows… did I miss something? I’d really appreciate some advice as I don’t think I can get a swift answer from Doc! 🇦🇺✌️🤗

I beleave he said if your a side sleeper, like me, its best to sleep with a pillow or folded blanket between your knees. Also sleep with your upperarms below your shoulder height towards the rib cage. Your forearms can go wherever comfortable. Im getting sleepy thinking about it. Also put some soft music on the radio low volume. Good Night. Hope this helps ya

@@faitht3643 thanx… I did go back and listened carefully! The last two nights were hell with my arms, especially the left carpel tunnel tingles and numbness. I actually stretch the lower back with how I sleep, to I can get up and move in the morning. Being old, I've learned from trial and error what works.

1. Sleep on right side preferably right palm under face & head at least in the beginning. 2. Sleep straight in supine position. 3. Can also sleep on left side with palm under yr face & head. This is to adjust to the pillow height & one feels cozy. 4. Keep the neck & spine straight but relaxed, don't twist it. 5. Never sleep in prone position. Very bad in all respects. 6. In case of spondylosis, additional supports can be gotten. 7. Pillow should be soft & medium to low medium height. 8. Bed should not be too soft & sinking. 9. A position which keeps you comfortable & is natural like any one of the above is good for you. Sweet dreams😍

I used to sleep exclusively on my stomach and couldn’t fall asleep unless I was in that position. Then I read something interesting. The reason sleeping on my stomach felt so good is because of the pressure on the front of the body. That’s why babies sleep better on their tummies too (even though you aren’t supposed to lay them that way bc of SIDS risk). So you could get a weighted blanket and sleep on your back, or do what I tried. I laid my body pillow right on top of me from my chest down to mimic sleeping on my tummy. Your spouse will think you’re strange lol, but it really does feel great and when you sleep, your mind and body are tricked into thinking your on your tummy bc of the mimicked pressure.

A SUGGESTION FOR ALL THAT WAS NOT EXPRESSED BY ANYONE THAT I SAW IN THE COMMENTS. A FEW YEARS AGO I WAS HAVING STOMACH ACID ISSUES. MY DOCTOR WANTED ME TO SIT STRAIGHT UP IN BED IN A "L" POSITION. I MODIFIED IT BY PUTTING 3 PILLOWS AGAINST THE HEADBOARD AT A SLANTING ANGLE. THE 3RD. PILLOW THAT WAS AGAINST MY BACK & NECK WAS SOFTER AND MORE PLIABLE SO I BENT IT TO SUPPORT MY NECK AND IT WAS VERY COMFORTABLE. THIS HELPED MY INDIGESTION BUT THE MAIN CHANGE THAT I NOTICED. THAT I REALLY LIKED, WAS THAT ONCE I FELL ASLEEP, I RARELY MOVED ALL NIGHT. PREVIOUSLY, I TOSSED AND TURNED A LOT ALL NIGHT AND I DID HAVE THE NUMBING OF ARMS AND HANDS. NO MORE. JUST GIVE IT A TRY FOR A FEW NIGHTS AND SEE IF IT CUTS DOWN ON THE ANNOYING TOSSING AND TURNING AND NUMBING OF ARMS AND HANDS. IT SURELY SHOULD HELP SOME OF YOU. WORTH A TRY !!!

Thank you Doctor. I appreciate all your advice. My husband loves to sleep in the second position. Hopefully he'll stop now.As for sleeping on the stomach, as Muslims we are advised to avoid this position. So this will be easier to avoid . Thank you Sir.

Vlad Perez, GOOD CATCH ON THE SPELLING OF YOUR COUNTRY, SO HERE IS A HINT FOR YOU. THERE IS NO WORD "Learnt" It doesn't exist. The word you want to use is ""learned" ""LEARNED." Therefore, here is your corrected sentence. Watching this video, I learned, I've been sleeping in the wrong way all my life... Thank God, I don't have to learn your language because most of it would need corrections !!! HAPPY SLEEPING EVERYONE.

Oh no Doc! I sleep on my side with one leg bent (as i started this when pregnant some 47 years ago) and like to have my pillow length ways from below chest so my head's higher and usually left arm stretched out past head to avoid elbow pain when waking. I try keep hands away from body to avoid waking to a dead hand and thinking somethings touching me. I love sleeping and only thing really sore in a.m. is elbow. I noticed my neck area sore and realised it was from watching movies on the phone to my left. So now i try keep phone directly in front of me. Thanks Doc for all your advice 🇿🇦

I sleep on my side with a heavy pillow on my ear. So I’m sandwiched between 2 pillows. Most comfortable position.
