Thanks for the upload, Martin and congratulations. Rafal is a big figure here in Poland, so winning against him in the final is a worthy achievement. I find it absolutely amazing how there is ZERO 'tells' in your movement, especially when you launch your schiessen. With the reach like yours it has to be next to impossible to defend. I'd love to fence against you some time, hope we will be able to host you during one of our tournaments in Poland.

Really, you used a lot of winding into Right Ochs, in comparison to the last year's tournaments. That's remarkable! Btw nice of you to call all those unseen hits.

Thank you very much Ondřej! I've been using right ochs quite a lot in the past year or two, it's a powerful position.

@@MartinFabian You're welcome. Btw when you stich a velcro on the elbow of the jacket, you can attach the velcro strap that hangs loosely on you in the video (it comes inside the shell). Then they won't move and maybe even fall of during a hard strike like at 3:11 :)

First off, you've gotta be one of the best I've seen so keep those videos coming. I've been learning a lot from watching. Second, lefties can really throw off your game, as seen vs Thomas Couturier. I've felt it first hand as well. It's a difficult adjustment to make in the moment. Thanks for the great videos.

Hello Cihan! Thank you very much, you're very kind. In general I like to fight lefties and don't have much issues adjusting to the change. I even find some techniques easier. We have 6 lefties just in my club and I fight them often. The thing about Thomas is that he has a very unorthodox style and very good distance management. He's hard to read and above all he's careful in his approach. A good opponent to test your patience and game plan :)

Cool! Do you think more competitions will move towards “continuous” bouts in the future? They’ve done it at Swordfish a time or two now and it was very entertaining to watch
@MartinFabian
5 жыл бұрын
Hey Ethan, I don't really think so. Continuos bouts are cool if you have skilled opponents, they are great for showcasing etc. But they are very dangerous and prone to cause much more injuries, plus hard to judge if you want to judge something else than just count blows. I love it as a didactic tool, occasional fun, but not great for blossfechten.

Sad Sergei Kultaev only fought you in Rapier and Dagger (saw the fight, great impressions). I would be glad to see you face each other in Longsword, as I admire both of you sincerely. Have you fenced against Sergei in tournaments, Martin? I mean Longsword specifically.
