Ok so I’m a big Tzeentch fan and player so here are my thoughts. No more fate points I prefer, because it means that units that are not fate point generators are actually useful. Wyrdflame is actually pretty cool with some ideas of tech. It’s not much damage but GW has obviously been trying to tone down Mortal Wounds across the board. The unique spells are, something. I’m not sure how I feel about Kairos getting arcane suggestion, it’s a strong spell at the least. He also has a 5+ ward, finally, and I hoped he would be a 4 caster but no, just as long as LoC is a 3 caster. Infusion arcanum sounds neat on the curseling but he moves 5 and hits and wounds on 4’s. Pink Horrors, are, idk. If they’re similar points to what they were they’re gonna be trash. Split and split again looks bad, but… that’s probably a good thing, I’m not gonna weep for my horrors. Destiny dice are still awesome, and I’m still hyped for the edition and largely like what I saw.

As a long time tzeentch player: Love that they kept destiny dice. bread and butter of the army. Im very in the fence on wyrdflame. its cool that its a rule that more than just magic can tie into, cuz the current rules dont effect 2 out of 3 prongs of the army, namely tzaangor and flamers. If there are more ways to apply wyrdflame and more effects with it, it can be cool. the big downside is that im trading 3/4 of my battletraits for you using a rally on a single unit. so im trading 1 cp for most of my abilities. very mid From the scrolls, kairos is very good, he lost his big dmg spell but gained the best spell in the lore. he can be very good, but he might be to "slow". he is just a points machine, but if we need dmg/survivability he might not make the cut, or if GW costs him too high (which is 95% gonna happen). He gained a bit of survivability, but losing the 1 save is bigger than you think. those rend 2 cannonballs you used to be able to DD with a 6 now go strait through, but 5++ is very solid. pinks have to be seen, very point dependant. their problem is that they filled a role we have nothing else for, actual anvil. maybe we will just run screens, but its going to require some experimenting. the others are a miss imo. curseling is the biggest meme, he goes from 1.67 dmg to a 4+ to 3 dmg to a 4+ with his spell. its like such a bad spell and hero, i dont know what they were thinking. he had a cool spell where he could steal other peoples spells. i also think his spell should have gone on the ogroid. he has actual attacks, and when damaged gets +1 to hit and wound. you could maybe actually make a combo with a slappy foot hero to do like 12-15 dmg. We have not seen any dmg, but we have seen tricks. now just hopium that flamers and tzaangor will give us dmg, than we might be good. if not, we are bin. Overall verdict, im somewhat happy, but mostly relieved that it wasnt worse.

Don't forget the Gaunt Summoner. He does his thing once and then he's just a Wizard (2). Why did he lose his own spell? Overall I think Tzeentch lost a lot of flavour.

Really enjoyed your review and positivity. I was down on the reveal but optomistic. I like a lot of the changes but the pinks really worry me (and agree it would be better of they didnt split). Here are two play patterns why i think pinks will be terrible. 1) You are playing into shooting army, they simply shoot your pinks and leave the blues alone. 2) you are playing against a melee only army. You have a unit of pinks (20 wounds) and a reinforced unit of blues (40 wounds). The enemey has to grind through 100 wounds from the extra 40 wounds worth of blues that they spawned - and if you rally 1 pink that is 2 points of rally for 6 wounds worth of models). If you point them for scenario one, scenario two is awful for your opponent. If you point them off acenario two they are unplayable against a shooting meta.

Also I like wyrd flame, but DoTs are generally bad in miniatures games. It is better to do 10 damage to one unit and eliminate entirely than 2 damage to 5 units. Additionally, DoTs require you to be tanky to survive long enough to get value out of the effect.

I’m worried for my OBR, as a lot of the third edition rules have been palmed out to everyone else, just like they did in 2nd edition. As for warclans…. I really hope Kruleboyz get something that doesn’t require 5 50/50 rolls to even have a chance of working.
