CONGRATULATIONS on Aliyah keeping her composure after being pushed around and bullied by Morrow. UCONN players are great at sportsmanship and never intentionally try to physically harm other players. A class act throughout the years in sportsmanship!

At tip-off; Nika didn't cry about getting bumped, did some bumping of her own, blocks the girl's shot, keeps the ball inbounds to Dorka, and away they go. Typifies the never-give-up, keep-on-rolling attitude of this team.

Starting at 17:00/1:29:29, we see Edwards, Juhas, and Griffith do the "bunny hop". In other words, UConn's bigs are taking turns going into the low post to exploit their height advantage. It worked two times out of three. Griffith blew a chance at a bunny. Moreover, UConn's Edwards took an elbow-jumper inside of the foul line. Hear this: this strategy is unstoppable because LouLou can exploit any opportunity this "bunnies taking bunnies" offense creates. UConn has a height advantage on most other D1 schools. The fact is that if Sweet Caroline is in the lineup with Edwards, Juhas, Griffin, & Senechal, each of the UConn players can take turns posting up & scoring with high percentage shots that could bring a free throw with the points. The truth is that Niki Muehl, UConn's Energizer Bunny, could master this technique. Geno will look like a genius if his "board-banging bunnies" make the final four with their "rotating bunny hop".

Watching the game to see Defense in particular, I loved that it was a challenge and UConn rarely got beat. There were some random open 3s or one baseline backdoor, but no patterns of a recurring problem. Great defense and teamwork.

I liked watching her play defense at the guard position. She has the quickness and jumping to really intimidate offensive guards. Then she would play Morrow and match up okay physically. That's amazing versatility, just like Aaliyah and Dorka show.

The difference between this game and our first game against DePaul last season is night and day. Nowhere near as dramatic and I'm not gonna complain about it. Now one bad thing that has carried over is Ms. Morrow and her habit of flopping like a fish. Even Allen acknowledged it the first time it happened. I really wish the NCAA would call flopping techs on the women's side like they do the men's because she would be forced to clean up her pathetic act real quick.

I also got a laugh when Morrow and another DePaul player flopped to the floor and appeared to be seriously injured. And then just like magic, both got up and ran down the floor.

As I was watching the game, I had forgotten about that seeing Morrow last year...lots of flopping (must be a LeBron fan). The other thing I noticed was their guard Rogers, she does the Chauncey Billups move on her jump shots, she kicks her legs out in order to try to draw a foul.

It was fast-paced with lots of contact and keeping composure was certainly a big thing. It's hard to point to just one or two things as especially good or bad. The team started a bit rough, but got in synch along the way and really zoomed. When I saw Paige start dancing a little I knew she thought things were going well. Now do all these foreign kids know how to dance too? Aaliyah and Dorka were terrific. Lou was giving it everything she had, but passing to and from her was a little rough. Nika was good except not shooting much. Aubrey had trouble finding her groove, but finally did well. She has to watch out when she's surrounded and get rid of the ball to avoid a tie-up. Amari and Ayanna did very well. I'll bet Ms. Morrow hadn't played against someone who could block her like Amari did. Thank goodness nobody was seriously hurt. I saw so many new and interesting plays. That and the speed of plays made it a challenge to keep up with what was happening. This may have been the most exciting game of the year so far. Of course, DePaul had young players and couldn't keep up, but they tried.

Morrow is just one of dem hood girls throwing her weight around but she ran into Edwards tonite who showed real toughness, not that chickenshit crap Morrow does. Also love the latina fire from Lou when she said FU after getting tripped. Oh and that Dorka rejection and nod to student section...just gold!
