Are there any work arounds for trying this in unreal 5, the box just goes invisible despite everything else looking right.

This is great, i cant believe UE doesn't just have a volume fog object you can place, this is a lot of work to setup, other engines have had this as standard for ages.

Honestly I have to say that this is the way people should teach others. You explain everything so we actually learn and not just telling you to copy nodes like a lot of channels tend to be like.

10:05 causes my sprite to disappear completely. It seems having a volume material causes the simulation to be invalid. If anyone finds a solution for this please let me know as I cannot follow the tutorial past this point. EDIT: set system settings to GPU rather than CPU.

Also as a tip, if you want the particles to follow the Niagara System you can simply check 'Local Space' in the emitter settings instead of adding that Particle.Position parameter =)

Is there a VR compatible method for the particle approach? The mesh seems to work fine but I couldn't get the Particle method to show up in both eyes - even with Instance Stereo toggled off.

It is 4.26 indeed, but fog writing has been available since 4.14 as I recall, so shouldn't matter if you're using a slightly older version.

Liking the tutorial so far but it'd be great if you were to say what shortcuts you're using with your keyboard and mouse while going through the steps. For example, at 7:41 you bring up something without saying how to do so.

It does, you must place down an Exponential Height Fog and enable Volumetric Fog inside of it.
