In this session, students will be introduced to 3D models, parts of an object, and coordinate systems. They will also learn about the basic tools needed to create a scene using Blender.
UIF STEM Tutorials: Students will be introduced to 3D graphics, modeling, animation, and the industries that rely heavily on these skills. Students will learn basic techniques in modeling while building up to a full scene with a character and backdrop. Major tools in Blender necessary to modeling will be explored including scaling, rotating, working with primitives and proportional editing, adding topology, and the difference between destructive and non-destructive modeling. The course is primarily for middle school and high school students starting at an introductory level. Blender is a free software available on laptop and desktop.
