1971 was the year which saw the demise of Music Now's singles and albums charts, followed in short order by that of the publication itself. (Its last #1: "My Sweet Lord.") With this in mind, let us examine what "other" #1's made the remaining two charts without doing so "officially": - "Another Day" by Paul McCartney (New Musical Express) - "Brown Sugar" by The Rolling Stones (New Musical Express) - "My Brother Jake" by Free (New Musical Express) - "I Did What I Did For Maria" by Tony Christie (New Musical Express, Melody Maker) - "Never Ending Song Of Love" by The New Seekers (New Musical Express, Melody Maker)

"Lady Bump" was 5 years later, by Penny McLean. Mungo Jerry's topper was "Baby Jump." Whole 'nother song.
