The UAF said the Sonyachny stadium had been destroyed by Russian shells in 2022. The aim of the display is to bring a stark reminder to these Euros that Ukrainian forces have been engaged in Europe's bloodiest fighting since the second world war, and civilian life in the country has been upended.
