Dad never gave showed or told me how to make it. It was his secret recipe, and unfortunately he passed before he could share it. He had this wicked screwball he used to throw when we’d play catch. (Never shared how to do that one either) You’d expect catch the ball at your chest, and all of a sudden it would jump down, up, or to one side or the other all of a sudden. Needless to say I learnt to catch the ball or take a hit. That playing catch with that surprise made me really good at catching a ball. Probably why I played shortstop on an adult softball team at 13. Not to mention AAA ball. He passed a year ago and I sure do miss him.

Thanks for doing this one for me brother! I finally have wore you down I see. 🤷🏼♂️I’ll let you know how it goes when I make it. Still a little warm for that here. Made my mouth water though! They look like my dads! Well done Ralph! I think that what makes your channel so great is everything you do is basic. Meaning just a normal without 50 years as a chef making real food in real time.

Thanks Paul. I can't wait to see how it turns out compared to your dad's.

I just started my own cooking channel a few months ago. I just found your video while doing some research and love it. These dumplings look so good. I subscribed and look forward to watching more of your videos.

My wife and I thought it turned out really well. I never would have thought to do dumplings in a beef stew, but it came as a request from one of my viewers. I'm sure you have already discovered that this KZitem thing is harder than you thought. That was the case for me. When I started, I didn't even know how to edit video. My biggest surprise came when I had a video start to really take off. That's when the KZitem trolls appeared, They can make some really ugly comments. It kind of depressed me and made me wonder if I should quit. That's when I found out that this happens to virtually ALL KZitemrs. You have to learn to ignore it. So good luck with your channel. You got this. I subscribed.

Looks great. I’ve made stew, of course, but never dumplings. Since the dumplings were cooked in the stew liquid, did they take on the taste of the stew? I have to try doing this.

They’re fantastic if made correctly. You won’t be disappointed. You’ll like the dumplings more than the stew. My brother and sister used to fight over who got the extra dumpling.

I never thought to add dumplings to beef stew, but it came at the request of a long time viewer. We loved it. Oddly enough, the dumplings don't soak up the stew liquid, so you're only getting the stew flavor on the dumplings from the stew liquid that sticks to the bottom of the dumpling. Definitely worth trying.
