I follow the KISS principle when serving steak to my family and friends. I stopped using h 12:19 any kind of steak seasoning or marinating steak after my first trip to Brazil and saw how they prep their steaks and beef. Sea salt. I just use my churasscaria (Brazilian for BBQ) salt which is a simple chunky sea salt, leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Knock the salt off and slap that dead cow meat on my grill or in my grannies old cast iron fryin’ pan. Hit er up with some fresher cracked black pepper and that’s all she wrote. Excellent steak doesn’t take a culinary degree. Super delicioso!! Oh almost forgot this part I hit my buddy up Dr. Dudley Baker at his ranch and pick up a couple of Fred Flintstone looking ribeyes that have been 100% grass fed at a ranch down the road from me. Best beef ever. He implements some really smart practices like letting land test every 4 yr, rotating the type of grass, clover, oats etc they feed on and even lets his bulls get a little hookup before they put them down. Go down with a smile so to speak. Really enjoyed the video. I’ve been wanting to get a vacuum sealer, still undecided on the sous vide just because it sure seems like a huge about of money for something that heats up water.

Poor poor abused Gunner! Come on Ralph you know your recipes have to be Gunner approved. I love sloppy joes, and they’re fairly cheap meal. Mom and dad always made homemade sloppy joes when I was a kid when dinosaurs roamed the earth. They would add onions and green bell peppers. I like them better with the sweeter yellow, red, or orange peppers than the green ones. Thanks for a nice simple recipe and sharing with us. Well done again brother. Oh, next week I’m making the beef stew with dumplings you did previously. Well, going to attempt to make it anyway. 👍🙏🏻

I suppose you put ketchup on the steak too? A good steak only needs a little salt and pepper nothing more than that. If you’re going to season it to death you might as well eat a veggie burger.

@@moejaime2654 Your job is irrelevant. What do you do there? I noticed you didn’t say you were the chef. Salt and pepper is all that’s needed for a quality steak. You should know that then. You want the flavor of the beef, and that’s all that is needed. Steaks done using the sous vide method are cooked differently, higher flavor, and juicier. Granted you have to sear them, and on a two inch steak you should sear the sides too. Ralph usually does that, but I don’t know why he didn’t this time. My point is you want to taste the beef, not a bunch of seasoning and herbs. You might as well make a vegan burger. That’s how vegan burgers get their “flavor” by the seasoning and not the quality of the vegetables.

@@ralphknowsfood The buttermilk tenderizes the proteins and reserves the proteins simultaneously. You can go far beyond seven days in buttermilk and the protein will continue to be pristine, and tender. I’ve been testing this process recently.

I won't feed my dog anything I cook with garlic or onions, there are so many things we eat that dogs can't. Your dog is big enough that the bit of garlic powder you put on won't affect him much. Grapes and raisins are really bad for canines too so if you use A1 sauce or others you might want to look at the ingredients, A1 has raisin puree in it. Like your vids Ralph!

@@ralphknowsfood Who originally made A1 sauce? As the story goes, the sauce was concocted specifically for King George IV by his personal chef, Henderson William Brand, in the 1820s. The King himself gave it a stamp of approval, proclaiming "A1" to his chef and the name stuck. The King part may be a myth.
