NOTE: The mod is up to v1.28.4 and this information is still accurate with one exception. Originally, once a soldier made it into the wounded pool, they did not die. Now, 15% of the men in the wounded pool die after each battle. Everything else should be the same.

One of my biggest criticisms of the vanilla game was the unrealistically high kill-ratios, along with the full-wipes in every battle. Neither result was possible in most battles of the war. I am delighted that the J&P mod has addressed this. - I am enjoying the new casualty system. For the first time I am buying vets. On the plus side, it is great to be able to bring all 1* units to Distress Call, which makes that battle a lot more fun. - I have found that on MG in the early campaign, even after suffering much higher than expected losses, it is possible for the Union to rebuild the army and continue the campaign. This feels realistic, mainly because the war for the North was a meat-grinder. - Thanks for this video explanation. That was very clear and easy to understand.

This is something I decided to put together after reading so many mentions on the Discord for the mod - myself included - since mine were higher than expected, Pandakraut's were high too. So, I crunched some numbers to see what the real impact is overall.

@@gonzogamer8710 It seems that players are very concerned about higher losses, but in my experience my recruit pool on MG always has plenty of men in it. My concern is always for rifles, not men. I assume that the CSA campaign is the opposite. Even watching Forefall, the Union army in his campaign through Malvern has plenty of men, but that might be because he invested so hard into Politics. - I really need to start paying attention to Discord. - I wish that the Union campaign started with infinite 42s, because that would reflect reality. About mid-campaign, the Union should have infinite 61s.
