@Awesome Opossum heya no worries, glad u found the video useful! TBH US$3.5k a month is plenty enough, you'll be able to get a large house even if thats what you wanted, plus domestic help n dining out etc. I would be very discreet about your budget if i were you. Cos there's always many people around very happy to help u spend that in various ways! Nha Trang is a gorgeous retirement city and its within easy access to many other pleasant places u can easily drive across to if u get bored too. So pretty awesome! good for u! yay!

Hi, I'm seriously considering retiring to Vietnam. The only thing that puts me off is the visa/border run. How long does it take to cross a border and then return to Nha Trang. 👍
@JeanVoronkova
3 жыл бұрын
@@welshxrp906 hey Mike, u know, on multiple occasions I've had people say to me "money can solve every problem in VN".... and it turns out quite true 99% of the time. There are thousands of visa/travel agents and even the company incorporation agents in Vietnam. Prior to Pandemic, they will, for a pretty reasonable fee, take your passport, bus it to Saigon or Hanoi from wherever u r based, renew your visa, bus the passport back to you and you pick it up frm your agent. So no visa runs necessary. But thats only if for your category of visa, extension is possible and you dont need to exit and come back in. These categories and permissions change often cos the Immigration people keep tweaking their policies. In some periods of time when they were restricting tourism n foreigners and a visa run is necessary, seems from hearsay the Cambodia - VN border is the cheapest and easiest and takes one full day of bus-sing it around. We've never had to do that so we cant comment much there. anyway we r waiting to go home to VN once this pandemic blows over, maybe we can report on the new situation once we r on the ground, so stay tuned/subscribe if you want updates....

@Simplicity HG2010 haha! Good question. Right so I had the regular corporate life once upon a time but I hated it and loved surfing so I gave up my life in SG and moved to Vietnam about 10 years ago and reskilled as a surf instructor. Met my Russian hubs there he also worked as a surf instructor. He’s awesome! White outside but very Asian within! Loves Asian food! N Asian life haha
@JeanVoronkova
3 жыл бұрын
@Simplicity HG2010 heya! Actually to be honest anyone can do it. There are actual practical steps to take to get there. U just shd be sure that you’re doing it cos u wanna be “there”, at the specific place you’re moving to, and not just cos you’re vaguely unhappy “here” wherever u r now (I’m assuming Singapore?)..... hmm maybe I’ll make a video about my/our experiences. I’ll dare say life in third world countries has its own challenges also and it’s not for everyone. But I also think that no matter what u do in life there is always a do over if u make mistakes so if that’s what u want don’t be afraid to try.

On the bus, right now to Nha Trang, thank you for this video. Can't wait to stop at these places over our stay to get some great food while I wait on the surging school to get in touch with me. I have lived in HCMC for the past three years now, so it was wonderful to come across this video. I have just recently visited Phu Quoc and Nha Trang is next on my list for July. I am probably going to stay at the Mia Resort, but is there anywhere you can recommend I can visit when I hire a bike? And best places for vegetarian food? Thank you so much!!!
@JeanVoronkova
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Selena, thank you for your comment. I'm glad u liked our guide video! Mia Resort is absolutely my favourite resort in NT and I always recommend it, but I also always tell people it's far away from NT city (about 25 min by taxi or their resort bus) because it's in its own private bay. That means if you plan to explore NT city's sights or restaurants lots you'll have more travel to factor in than if you stay in a hotel within NT city itself. But if you don't mind, its an incredible resort for the price. Love it. If you're talking day trips an hour or 2 away from NT city by motorbike u can consider visiting Ba Ho Waterfalls or Doc Let Beach for example. Best vege cafe is what we featured in the video!!! the name n address is in our description for the video!

@@JeanVoronkova thanks. I'm willing to take the chance. Another question. We are trying to decide between the Radisson Cam Ranh and Paradise Beach Resort in Doc Let. What would you suggest? We have a baby, so the hustle and bustle of Nha Trang center isn't our speed right now.
@JeanVoronkova
3 жыл бұрын
Heya! I’m not sure if u have realised this but Radisson Cam Ranh will be a minimum 45 min bus/taxi from resort to Nha Trang Centre one way, and Doc Let is like 2 hours plus drive away from NT city! So if ur idea is to relax in luxury resort for most days of ur vacay n then just pop into NT city for like a day’s visit, then yeah great, but if u want to see stuff in NT city more often then these 2 choices of hotels are too far! Maybe u can consider Evason Ana Mandara it’s right on NT city beach but still very quiet resort n luxurious, or there’s another big resort up north in NT popular w the korean tourists near the marina, can’t recall the name at the mo...... these will be peaceful luxurious n quiet too if u just hang inside the place, but going into city will be much closer for u.....
