Hi there, enjoyed the video, I've a question, the solar lights you have on the ground, do they come with an on/off switch, I was thinking of installing that model? Happy trails, 👍🚙👌🇨🇮

Marshall has the coolest set up! I love how he has everything set to just plug in for charging. The cabinet for kitchen stuff is ingenius! I know from one of his videos he kept that to remind him of a job he had. Well done!

We washer bath...no towel required. Similar to the bed bath you might have in hospitals or nursing homes...but standing. Hot water in winter and cold in summer. We book into a caravan park every week to have a good long shower, wash our clothes, towelling, linen etc. and reset the van too.

@13 minutes: using existing features in the car...we use the lights already in the ceiling of the car, our towels and 'bedside table' hanging organisers are our curtains. No frills... TL:DR The rechargeable lights are for outside. But in saying that we sleep in the car, cook at the back and live outside. Hyundai iMax converted from eight seats to five by removing the middle row. With a tri-fold mattress and under bed storage behind the front seats it transforms from campervan to town car in minutes. The permanently stocked kitchen box is behind the back seats...just add food and water. We have an internally fixed tailgate tent for privacy and protection from the weather. The longest time to date is seven weeks in free camps, caravan and national parks. All weathers. Temperatures from 0° to 30°C. Full disclosure: we live in a small unit and travel in our small campervan. Essentialism is my end goal but my report card says 'could do better'. I'd like to travel longer, and slower...

Good advice. Use what you already have at home first. And I will add put only items that you actually do use in the car. And beware of just in case as that could be poverty consciousness...other than emergency items. Best advice I have is travel with less stuff and take more money. That works for life too.

Hey, I had a Chevrolet 9:20 Express conversion van. It got totaled when hit by lightening. Yes lightening. I am getting little money because insurance did not update for inflation of used vehicles. I'm going to have to settle for a minivan to turn into camper. Question is? What minivan is the longest, widest and tallest to build out. 1) A dodge caravan or 2) a Toyota Sienna?
@DesertAdventuresinArizona
Жыл бұрын
I’m not exactly sure Cindy, but I think the Sienna might be a little smaller than the caravan. They are both good options for a van build as both are very dependable vehicles. The availability and price would be a deciding factor. Used Caravans are plentiful around AZ , Toyotas not so much.

Very nice and thought out set up Marshall. I love the kitchen box set up. I have a tiny car, Fiat Lounge, so I really like that idea of the door as a prep area. Oh my, are you friends with whoever parked only a few feet from you? That's awfully close.

I feel like it’s a better idea. If the solar panels come off the van so you can park in the shade, I don’t know what his experiences.
@DesertAdventuresinArizona

Yes the portable panels allow you to park in the shade which is a lot cooler. Marshall has both mounted and portable panels which works well for him depending on the situation. Thanks for watching and commenting!

It's amazing seeing what folks do with their minivans. We have had 5 of them over the years while our boys grew up, the last two where the seats folded down. I've thought about camping, but was only thinking of sleeping bags and maybe an air mattress. 🤣🤣Never dreamed of anything like this! Love Patagonia by the way. Some great boondocking right out behind! Great setup and we enjoyed seeing it.
