I love this type of videos from you. I am learning so much from them as a beginner hobbyist photographer. Furthermore I TOTALLY LOVE your whole (life)style, all these vintage vibes that I get from your videos... You rock! Keep up the good work, dude.

Hey man just discovered your channel. What you are doing is really good. You talk gear but you make it clear that it’s about the photographer more than the camera - and there’s always a couple of great ideas to spark that creative vision. You are also very much a human being which is great. Much love.

The sharpness with the R5 you're talking about is most likely the lack of an OLPF filter, noticed it with my R6 since I upgraded from my 5D III, which had an OLPF :)
@adventure9606
Жыл бұрын
All Canon camera's have the anti-aliasing filter or as you called it the OLPF except for the Canon 5DSR which the "R" stands for removed, they did not include the anti-aliasing filter and yes the R5 and R6 and R6 mark ii have the anti-aliasing filter.

Great video. I like wide angle portraits to get and idea of location. These tips where very helpful. I pre ordered the RF 14-35mm F4. What are your thoughts on shooting portraits with an F 4 lens. Personally feel with certain shots you do not need the background blurred out if you are telling a story.
@cammackey
3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I don’t really care for bokeh, specially when shooting ultra wide. I wanna do a comparison on those two lenses cause if there’s minimal differences I’ll get the 14-35. I love shoot models in car interior on ultra wide which tend to be darker so that’s the only think making me question it. And if I end up using it on the Komodo.. it’s cropped sensor so the F4 is more like a F5.6

Thanks for the tips! I'm about to start trying some portraits with my daughter. Question: I don't have a native prime lens for my X=T3. I only have the XF 18-55mm. I do have an old Canon FD 50mm f1.8 that I use with an adapter. Is it better to just set the 18-55mm at 50mm equivalent focal length or use the 50mm and get at focal length closer to 85 FF equivalent and deal with manual focus? Or just have fun and try both?! :-) Thanks for the cool vids you make.... Rock On!
@cammackey
3 жыл бұрын
Have fun and try both brother! Photography is an art. Learn the rules, then break them. 85mm is like a standard portrait lens and the FD could add some pretty softness. But if your daughter is younger and runs wild, the 18-55 will be your best bet. I would go wide and get her playing and get up close to her. It’ll get some fun lifestyle shots. So both.
@charliejg

@@cammackey Thank-you for the input!! We'll see how it goes. I hope she'll "run wild" a bit. These kids today all want to look exactly the same as their friends on Instagram! :-) I like to get in close to shoot, but she gets annoyed with me when I do. So, will have to work towards that starting back a bit. Again, thanks so much for your thoughts!
