It hit me hard when I climbed onto the operating table. I started shaking from adrenaline and told my anesthesiologist, he told me don't worry this will help with that and that's the last thing I remember until I woke up in the recovery room.

Hahahha same here dude. My legs were shaking so bad that even the surgeons couldn't help themselves from laughing. One of them even tried to make me feel less embarrassed by saying, "it is quite cold in here, isn't it", implying that it was the cold that was making my legs shake and not the adrenaline, but i knew that was not the case and they knew that was not the case, so we all laughed together for a bit😂, then I asked them when the anesthesia injection was gonna happen and of them replied "don't worry about that for now. First we're gonna inject you with this so that your body will prepare itself for the anesthesia injection", so i got injected with the preliminary injection(a.k.a general anesthesia) and boom, next thing I know, I'm at the recovery room and my family members are taking pictures of me like I'm some zoo animal.

I had an underbite surgery almost 2 weeks ago & I was also shaking on the operating bed. The last thing I remember was talking about my job and the next thing u know I’m out. One thing I liked about the operating room was the temperature. I was extremely hot until I got in there.

Love you man. Thank you for all the videos that give so much insight and really open up your personal life freely for us to learn from. You've given so much for those of us who have searched high and low for insight on what there is to expect, feel, experience. Your personal experience is so much, especially since there is so much to fear and I would say not enough knowledge out there for the public to easily attain. Your words have helped in comforting me in my own personal experience of going through a similar life. I really can't thank you enough. People like you have helped me get out from my lowest of lows. Thank you my brother. Much love to you and best wishes to you on your journey forward. Stay sexy my friend.

Wow you remember a lot prior to surgery! I was given Versed in the pre-op room then was wheeled to the OR & then I woke up from surgery. The surgical tech spoke to me weeks after & I asked her if she was there for my surgery & she told me we had a whole conversation in the OR prior to surgery! Also for people about to have surgery, bring your own fuzzy blanket, my hospital let me wear my blanket into the OR (they could’ve taken it off during surgery but I wouldn’t remember!)

I'm so glad you had a good experience, and you're looking great for being almost a year post op! Do you still have numbness or stiffness in your jaw? That's nice that your anesthesiologist had you think of a happy place, before you went out. Mine introduced a shadow anesthesiologist named Michael and I said "that was my uncle's name" then I was out called lol:)

I’m on this journey; however I had a recent experience with surgery as I fractured both my hands in an accident. It’s truly scary when you’re going into the operating theatre. You’re absolutely right about how cold the room looks and feels. But like all hard times; it will pass. I’m looking forward to fix my underbite in 1Q2024. Your sharing is helping me prep for it.

Did you have any soreness around your plates and jaw around 2 months po that you can remember? I did just have an ortho appointment and they changed around my elastics a week ago so I'm hoping that's the reason why. The sore pain is only a 2/10 but its still concerning because its been going on for 4-5 days now.

Hi Zachary, yes, I still remember having a little soreness at around the 2 month mark. But give it time and hopefully the soreness goes away. If not, I would contact your surgeon’s office and see what your options are. Hope that helps!

Looking good! During your recovery, were you more swollen on one side than the other?
@jameslsong1
Жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, yes. It is normal for one side to be more swollen than the other. It was more noticeable at first but slowly, things will even out. Just takes a long time. I’m still a little bit puffy but it’s gone down significantly. I’ve been reading some people take 2 years for 100% of the swelling to go down.
