Well, I just stumbled upon one of my new favorites. Good job algorythm. I haven't fished the Ogden river in 15 years but Utah content is always welcome.

@@beeksoutdoors casting with cooked mussels. The mosquitos are thick out there for sure but they aren't quite as bad out on the water. My buddy brings one of those personal mosquito nets that goes over his hat and then wears long sleeves and pants on the shore and he swears he is usually fine. Wipers are one of my favorite fish because they fight so hard.

Are there specific things you are looking for while walking the river? Not necessarily places you know are good but maybe like a dam type structure made by natural rock falling where the water gets a little deeper or do you prefer more shallow? or a combination? Just curious what catches your eye to where you want to cast?

I love pulling across rocks near pools & where fast meets slow… a fish will wait in calmer water with cover awaiting food to float or swim by. But nothing wrong with casting everywhere lol, pull across river if possible never straight down unless Uber calm and can control the cranks action. Last always be mindful of the hatch as this technique is used between feeding times when the surface game is always go too.

Sorry for asking a bunch a questions but heres another one. Do you put any smelly jelly on your rapalas or crank baits or is it better to leave them how they come?

I’ve never tried smells, just mono and a crank! This is a speed game and aggressive bite.

Crank bait with heat shrink huh? Have you ever had the hook come off?
@beeksoutdoors

Never… it’s still attached to split ring but a small piece of heat shrink tube heated over the split rings and hook to stop the hook from dropping down.

Hey that’s why I travel all over to fish… show people that can’t travel areas to fish. I fish the best of what the state offers. My favorite state to fish fresh waters has to be Alaska, born and raised with a rod in hand! But appreciate your honest feedback. Love to hear some good waterbodies you 👍 like. Cheers
