Nice creative production, appreciate all the funny cut scenes. I'm on several of the gig apps, lots of UE. A few things I do... My tips went up 25% when I put "love bad traffic, huge potholes, and high gas prices!" in the app's "Why I deliver" spot. It reminds them of the bs we're saving them from dealing with, and for some reason they tip more having thought about it. I triple my hot bag, so food is better insulated, hotter food means bigger tips. I put a lifesaver and an andes mint (per diner) on every delivery, leaves a good taste in their mouths right about when the app has them finalize tip. I use a dry erase board to write pickups name on to show restaurant staff, even made a little ubereats logo for it at kinkos so it looks pro... merchants like it. It cuts the line, interrupts the phone order, pickup is faster, can be seen across the dining room, through windows, on cameras, etc. On the wild world tip, it's also a small shield. Less repeating myself, no sticking my phone in peoples face. Tips are always more than trip earnings with these methods. I also text customers right when I get the request. I tell them "I'm x minutes from pickup, I've turned off new requests so your delivery will not be stacked with another order, I'll text an eta when I've got the goods in my heavy duty triple hotbag". Doing these things has many times turned low tip orders into huge tip orders. May your traffic be light.

Love how you explain the cost breakdown and your "real end profit". You are definitely wise and resourceful! You clearly have a vision for everything when you do a renovation and it's crazy how most people can't see that a fresh coat of paint and new floor completely change and update the look. Because I think your spirit is awesome I wanted to share a tip for getting rid of black mold spots WITHOUT damaging the canvas. I tried everything and had mostly damaging results until I tried Hydrogen Peroxide. Spray on straight HP and just let dry over areas you want to remove mold from. Re-apply as needed until all mold is gone. DO NOT rub or use a cloth! Let the HP just do it’s work. I have used this now for years on various camper pop tops and never damaged the canvas. It works every time. I know I searched for a long time to find a product that works but doesn’t weaken the canvas. I hope you find this useful. Great channel. Love your straight forward approach and use what you have handy approach. Happy travels!

p.s. you could use this type of experience with reno on poptops as contract work.. you just do the reno, but your clients would foot the bills and pay your contractor fee - you could be the "Galivanting Glamper Gal! The mobile popup camper reno-queen" - your M.O. could be helping folks turn their seldom used popups into airb&b spots lol.

Lol those are good names 😆 I did think about that but I would be concerned my reno wouldn't live up to people's expectations. I wouldn't want to disappoint anyone. It's easier for me just to do what I like with one then people can buy it or not 😃 Great suggestion though!! 🙏🏼

Just came across your Popup flipping video. This is one of the hobbies I have planned to do during retirement. I'm really aiming towards having an actual shop by then rather than just a two car garage. You have the right idea though, popups are actually one of the best starter RVs for singles, couples or with a handful of kids. Can be pulled by most midsized SUVs/trucks and pack small. Cleaning up and flipping these popups is great.

Nicely done! Your efforts made a world of difference to how that camper looked. At the end of your video you ask for other travelers to share how they make money. Not entirely sure my experience qualifies, since it's not necessarily something that is easy to do on the road from day 1. But it's flexible-ish, since I'm able to work hard at two seasonal jobs, and then play hard without working at all for the remainder of the year. My first job lets me pay the bills for the entire year while working only three months, and the (irregular) second job gives me a fair bit of fun money to spend while traveling the remaining months (in low-cost destinations only - usually Latin America, Southeast Asia, or USA Vanlife). First, I prepare tax returns. There's definitely a learning curve here, but once you've got some expertise the hourly rate can be pretty good, (I'm at $70/hour working for somebody else) and the season only lasts from mid-January until April 15. If that is of interest, I hear the H&R Block training is pretty good (and last I checked it's free!). H&R Block isn't a great place to work, IMO, but doing one season with them would let you get your feet wet and decide if you like the work. If you do like it, I'd suggest getting your Enrolled Agent license (no education requirement - just study for and pass a test; not easy, but do-able for most people). With that, and a few seasons of experience, you should be able to pull $30+ an hour during the three month tax season working for someone else. If you decide to get your own clients, you should be able to charge $100/hour or more, and the startup expenses are pretty minimal as long as you don't have an office (i.e., less than $400 using Drake pay per return software plus your existing laptop and phone). In many circumstances it can be done remotely as well. (I've worked from both Europe and South America with no problem. Well, no problem since I didn't tell my employer!) The second thing I do is inspect homes after disasters for a FEMA contractor. It's an on-call position, so I'm only able to work when they need me, but they cover all my travel expenses and give me a per diem stipend to cover food and incidentals as well. The hours are long, but I usually make at least $2,000/week. Downside is that it usually doesn't last very long. Often just 3-5 weeks per deployment. And there were two years where they didn't need me at all, so it's not a reliable source of income. There are two companies that do this work for FEMA - Vanguard Inspection Services and WSP Inspection Services. It's probably easier to get started with WSP. Getting hired isn't too hard, but it is a months-long process.

This is great. I love campers and love seeing old ones polished like a pearl and brought back for their next chapter. My hubby and I had an old popup that we remodeled over the winter (we had owned it for 8 years and it was great, but we wanted less manual labor setup when we got to camp) and sold for more than we thought we could get for an almost 30 year old camper. It's amazing what some touch ups and elbow grease can do! I'm now going down the rabbit hole of camper renovations and I would love to do this as a side hustle! Our yard is pretty tiny though. Thanks for showing me what is possible! Do you make that checklist you use when looking at buying potential campers? available? I'd buy one! Ah! Found it and thanks!

I wouldn't know if it was a good project or not without looking at it. If it's free though that sounds like it might be worth a try since you don't have much to loose. If there are major things wrong with the functionality or the canvas then be very cautious please. Those are often too expensive to fix for it to be worth anyone's time. Best wishes to you! 😃

HI Tara, they make adhesive patches for the netting on the windows that isn't expensive.
