I have the 3/8 inch thick Wrangler. This or the Old Country Brazos are all you need in a backyard pit. Great quality high performing smoker at a reasonable price. The $3,000 and $4,000 yard trophies that are so fashionable are just another unnecessary "look what I got" flex for 99% of those that have them.

I just use alot of used peanut oil to coat the cooking chamber and fire box on the outside to prevent the rust from forming. That way I don’t have to spray paint it at all. Mine is about 4 yrs old bought it used. 👍🏽

I like where you had it before If not even up against that baffle and then adding a piece all the way within 1 inch of the end of the cook chamber I think you got the right idea but you want to get that heat all the way to the exhaust and then you're overflow and smoke can come up into the chamber and run a good fire it's harder with the smaller smokers but I think you can do it You got the right idea You need enclose both ends so you can't keep pushing it back and forth or you keep losing it

Looks like thick creosote buildup in the firebox. Use a metal putty knife and scrape it off. There shouldn’t be any paint inside.
