I recently saw an ad on facebook for a small projector, and obviously those ads almost always promote cheap, garbage products. So I'm glad to see you reviewed this (even though I came across the review a bit late.) Besides the fair review and showcasing how it performs, it really warmed my heart to see your kids having fun playing this, and telling you about this. Really reminded me of how much of a blast Mario 64 was to me back in 1996. Wonderful review, thank you.

If you look on AliExpress there are models that have this shape with a built-in battery (and wireless connectivity), but the price goes up a lot with those features. They'd be really nice but I am not sure if they'd be worth the added cost.

Thanks for the info. I run an educational group started founded by a well-known naturalist, and part of what we do is run programs in the field. I have a generator and a old-style Epson VGA projector that does the job (with adapters galore) and makes for a nice, sharp, bright image, but maybe it's too bright and too delicate. Something like this seems like a really good compromise, especially since our screen really isn't that large.

Hi Erik, thanks so much for the kind words! I'm only doing this in my free time, on the weekends and evenings, so while I like the idea of trying to cover gaming news, I really don't have much time to read up on the latest news in order to stay relevant. There are USB power cables with multi-adapters to fit whatever device you need. Cheap on Ali. I would buy two of those and grab a power brick as well from Ali - they’ve got 20000mAh banks with up to 65w output (though fast charging is obviously a good deal more expensive). My super-premium Anker with all the fixins cost me about $100, but you can find bricks with less output for as low as $10-15.

@@RetroGameCorps in your vid the model number on the bottom of the projector is 'LC450' but you say it's actually 'LC450p'.. How can you tell the difference off of the model number?
@RetroGameCorps
3 жыл бұрын
@@svvall Good question, you're right that both models have the same model on the bottom. The main difference between the two is that the 2021 model has 1080p native resolution, while the older (cheaper) model has 480p resolution but "supports up to 1080p", which I think just means it will take a 1080p input but output to 480p. I would just recommend looking for the listing that has the wording of "2021 upgraded model" in the description.

Just as you choose to be cynical about a disease that has killed 475,000 people in the US alone, I can choose to do whatever I'd like to protect my friends and family, right? I live with two 80+ year-olds who are immunocompromised. So my family practices an abundance of caution, for their sake, and we consider it to be a display of respect to our elders even if the efficacy isn't concrete. Because that's the kind of things we should do for the ones we love. Let's get back to talking about retro video games.
@atariforever2002
3 жыл бұрын
You brought it up not me. And 475,000 is a false number. A VAST majority of these deaths were related to something other than the rona. Hell I had a guy down the street from me get killed in a car crash that was attributed to corona but hey, let's just all ignore these kinda things. Did you all wear masks for your elderly when the swine flu or H1N1 was rampant? How do you know they haven't had the rona already? Its not an instant death sentence. Listen, your right let's get back to retro, but please go read up on some alternative views. Its not as bad as "they're" leading you to believe.
