Honestly, I use Debrox ear drops and a cotton ball. It has always worked, and in a pinch, I heat up just (a little bit) some olive oil...use it like ear drops and let the oil loosen up the wax and sleep on that side with a cotton ball. Voila!!!

Mason, I used to be strict on Q-tipp'n my ears after a shower. Im a C4-C7 Quad and dont have the arm/wrist strength to do this, but maybe one day though. Thanks for showing how it can be done! Us Quads have to push the boundaries everyday, keep working hard man!

Forty years ago, I can't remember how I dried my ears, but they 'never' got worn in a wet condition. Out of the gate, when things seemed to settle down after our wedding and we moved into our first home, things got busy. Two buddies built an exercise room on an empty room addition (padded therapy table to exercise, stand, and a 60 lbs. punching bag w 16 oz. gloves along with a wall pulley system). Karl lived out in the country and the farm pond, well, he and Red tossed me in with a life preserver and I swam on my back three times a week, weather permitting. I parked my first van at the Indian Creek bridge, exactly 2.5 miles from Karl's house equating to five miles (daily), round trip pushing my sports chair (11 miles once a week). I constantly wore an armband radio with ear buds. This continued for thirteen years, off and on, while I went to school at IUPUI and University of Indianapolis and babysat for our daughter. I guess that I used a hand towel or a well-worn bath towel and my thumb, as I do presently, to thoroughly dry my ears. My doctor discouraged using Q-Tips and I asked more than one Pharmacist to recommend 'one' of the many ear-cleaning products sold at Walmart; every time they refused to answer my question and I continue using Q-Tips to this day. Age is sixty-nine, I'm a c4,5,6 quadriplegic.

I have often wondered about getting an ear-cleaning product but don't know anyone who uses one and don't know much about them. Thank you for watching and commenting!

@@masonx54 I don't know anybody who uses something other than Q-Tips, either. Ask your Dr. or pharmacist as decades have passed and things might have changed. But earbuds still fit in my ears (Lol) and I can hear what I wish.

I lick lightly between my index and middle finger and place the Q-tip between these two fingers. And inspect my earbuds w every use. Your technique looks steadier than mine! Gotta tries it out. Lol

May not be recommended for everybody, but I used the the arm tip of my glasses. I'll fold a tissue and put it over top of the of the handle of my glasses and roll around the side of my ear. Seems to be pre-effective. Just be careful not to go too far into your air socket. And nothing that you're doing is stupid for those that completely don't have finger you again I'm 40 years in so these are the things that I've just gotten used to doing

I don't have the wrist function because I'm a C5, but I've been tempted so many times to design and 3D print something to hold a q-tip to clean ears and nose. Would this be helpful for you even though you can do it without?

Are your fingers in a fist like mine, or are they straight? I can't remember. I'm sure it would be helpful to me even though I can do it without.

@DillonConnolly: I'm losing a lot of wrist function as well ad was wondering what spinal cord injury level did that. I originally broke C4 back in 1983, and after a bone infection got into my spine in 2018...ended up with a second one...C4-C6...both incomplete.

...same here...my wrist function is getting weaker and weaker each day. I'd have a hard time just holding up a quad reacher...lol. I'm a C4-C6 incomplete.
