There were about 17 international students in my daughter's class. Be persistent!!!! Never take no for an answer. Good luck!

I graduated in 1979. We had an international classmate from Iran. We were strong allies at the time. Hard to imagine, huh? I still remember his name, Saeed Ahmadi. He sat next to me in Calculus class and took notes in Farsi. We all liked him. He was actually really a funny guy. When he was a plebe and the detailers were yelling at him, he would always pretend that he didn't speak English very well and was having trouble understanding - then the detailers would give up on him. He spoke perfect English! Hilarious! It reminded me of something I once heard Andy Kaufman (comedian) say during an interview on a late-night talk show. He said the character, Latka, that he played on the sitcom Taxi, came in handy one night when he was being mugged in New York. He babbled some nonsense (like his Taxi character) and pretended not to be able to speak English. When the mugger threatened him and said, "Give me your wallet!" Andy got all animated and acted like he didn't understand. The mugger just gave up in frustration. That's pretty much what Saeed did during Plebe Summer. SAD NOTE: After graduation, we found out that Saeed was killed during the Iran-Iraq War when his gunboat was strafed by an Iraqi jet.

6:58 I only watched this to see my favorite part, the closing of those two big doors to Bancroft Hall as the last plebes march through. Boom! They slam shut in the faces of all the family and friends. It's the Naval Academy's way of saying, "We got 'em now!" What a great visual metaphor. They will never return home in a meaningful way ever again. It will always be brief visits - then it gets even *worse* after they graduate. So much for my motivational speaking career, huh? :)

Amazing how organized, disciplined, and focused the films produced by the Academy are; so very different from the films produced by the individual students. The students produce films which show sloppy rooms, disorganized eating habits and an apathetic attitude to the supposed rigor of the Academy. So which is the real story?

@user-oz8xs8cl4o it's the same application. You will need to apply again for Seminar, but most of the info is there already. And the USNA package application will already be pre-populated.
