@0911tammy , @unicenterclub, Thanks for your warm greetings! Although I am not the one who posted this video, but I took it as an Uyghur anyway. I love Dilnar's every single dance performance, she is so graceful and I feel like she is an angle. Glad to see other people also liked my favorite dancer. Greeting from the US to you! Thanks kwwkwwkww for posting this wonderful video!

Thank you for the information. Although, I'm from Bangladesh but once upon a time it used to be india. It is so good to know history. I always admire Madhubala's dance in that movie. I had no idea the dance was influenced by Uygurs. :D Good to know good to know!!

Dilnar Abdullah can dance to just about anything (like to this western classical music), but I still prefer her dancing to uyghur or other folk music. Great performance either way.

The North, South, East and West of the whole of Eurasia have influenced eachother, this particular dance has mongol, indian, arabic and western classical influences all combined.

@subz4155 I see, you are talking about influence through military and political domination. I mention Buddhism because as Buddhism spread around the world, so did parts of Indian culture, including Indian dance forms, which took root in regions as far as Indonesia and Northern China ( where the ancestors of the Mongols and Turks lived ) but of course by your logic, the Indians did not send armies to take over the world, so this influence should be "less significant".

@subz4155 no bharatnataym exited before but there is a dance form and there is also a same dressing style you can find in old indian culture....... it was probably introduced to india when zenghis khan came to india , i believe he ruled over north india for a while and this style is only seen in north india

@subz4155 yes bharatnataym existed before this. if you ever look at the artifacts found in the harrapa nd mohan zo daro civilazation u will see artifacts that look lyk they are doing bharatnataym. so yeah bharatnatyam existed before this.

@subz4155 and where were the Mongols and Uyghurs during the time when Buddhism was a world religion ?
@adityabose26

@subz4155 I think u r being chauvinistic if u think that the uyghur culture predates the ancient culture of India including its many classical dance forms. It is the pan-islamic influence that refined the nomadic, tribal cultures from across Central Asia & Arabia. Babur invaded India in 1520's against the Delhi sultanate but it was Akbar who finally extended Mughal rule over most of northern India with Rajput help. It was a war of attrition that was won over decades.

@subz4155 Right, so Buddhism and its associated Indian culture did not spread out through the ancient trade routes and influence central Asia? It was not a one way street except maybe in your half baked world view.

@subz4155 In any case, the mughal influence u speak of manifested itself only in Farsi being used as the court language & partially in the architecture that was syncretic of Hindu rajput & islamic styles. The mughal court & culture pervaded back into Babur's homeland of Ferghana & in his conquered capitals of Samarkand & Bukhara. The opulence of these two cities came from the plundered wealth of Hindustan & its many temples. TRY to have a more balanced view of history.

@anjalikadiyan Do u have any sense of history?? Zenghis Khan came to India??? Ha ha ha ha....that's creative. Only Tamer lane or Timur the lame came to India on successive raids but he never stayed. Babur who came from Ferghana was a turko-mongol who claimed descendency from both Chenghiz on the father' side & Timur on the mother's side. It wasn't b4 Akbar that Mughal rule truly started in the north of India.
