Valparaiso is a port city on the Chilean coast. It's known for its steep hill funiculars and colorful clifftop houses. La Sebastiana, the quirky former home of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, is now a museum with sweeping views of the Pacific. During the 19th century, an influx of European immigrants left their mark on the city's architecture and cultural institutions, many of which cluster around Plaza Sotomayor in the center.

Viña del Mar is a coastal resort town northwest of Santiago, Chile. It is known for its gardens, beaches and tall buildings. Quinta Vergara Park is home to the Quinta Vergara Amphitheater, the Vergara Palace from the early 20th century and the Artequin Museum, which exhibits examples of great works of art. The Museum of Archeology and History Francisco Fonck has stone moai sculptures from Easter Island and reduced heads.
