signed. well done you two. It seems despite serving my country to protect our freedoms, and (still) paying income and local council taxes, i often can't park up, spend money in the local pubs and shops then sleep overnight. At some locations I'm willing to pay a small fee and move on after 48hrs but no option is given. Equally offensive, often we can't even park for a few hours without being charged silly money. Seems short-sighted councils hate all car and van owners and blame all campervan owners (99.9% of whom are responsible caring citizens) for the rubbish left by a few bad (car and van) drivers. Using this logic, councils need to ban all pedestrians from walking because some are bad.

That's what we are being told isn't it. I agree with some of my subscribers and it's all part of conditioning us for 2030 15 min cities.

Some crazy guy built a fake Stonehenge replica over here, I've never checked it out yet cause I refuse to pay some fee to see a concrete block, I might have to go stealth lol

What exactly are the proposed overnight restrictions you’re petitioning against? I can’t find any laws or proposals for new laws that would ban it.
@Roadshome

Are you not seeing the many many park ups being signed with no overnight ? Lytham & St anns have just brought in the rules most of Wales have it in place already and now witby Scarborough and surrounding areas. It's local councils banning the stopping and parking of motorhomes at night, www.thescarboroughnews.co.uk/news/politics/council/the-sea-front-is-not-a-camp-site-plans-for-overnight-motorhome-parking-restrictions-divide-opinion-among-scarborough-news-readers-4729927

So just in council owned car parks? I’d just park on the road outside them where possible. I get what you’re saying and I agree, I’ve never been that far north so it’s not something I’m fully aware of.
@Roadshome

@Andy82-82 nope public owned land. Ie areas in trust forest land. Roads and lay bys moorland etc. Areas you would normally stop if you had driven a long while and needed to stop and rest or have a nap.

@@Roadshome If you needed to rest while driving I’d just do it and argue later should you get any kind of ticket, laws on safe driving may trump laws on parking in court? I don’t know, I have signed your petition, hope it helps 👍

A little rude to other youtubers ... you are not the only person trying to make a difference. This is more about the freedom to be able to roam.... a vehicle can park where you choose, and for as long as you pay the parking ticket. This is about respect to others of where you park and the vehicles that take 2 or 3 spaces. And the people that leave rubbish .. that is not people that show respect.

There are so many much larger YT channels about vanlife, motorhomes that could have had a bigger impact. Non have covered the no over night issues appearing all over country, yet these people claim to be living as I do but they are not seeing it ? The highway code, which is considered a as law, states do not drive while tried. But many places are putting no over night parking for campervans and motorhomes. Are we immune to falling asleep ? And yes these vans take more space, all the more reason to remove the signs in outter city country parks and picnic areas where these signs are going up.

Sadly living in vehicles is finished! The fashion for making videos at the Drove, will make a permanent ban on overnighting at anything other than official government approved sites, far easier to achieve. Evidence related to public health issues and serious environmental damage is provided by pretty much all of these videos, and I would guess is going to be used to help cancel overnighting all over the UK? Its astonishing that those making the Stonehenge videos don't realise that they are helping to hammer home the nails in the coffin of one of the few freedoms we have left?

Yes we have noticed that there have been a vast amount of videos made advertising vanlife communities at Stonehenge. Mark lived on and off 'the drove' for over 3 years. He didn't make a single video with vanlifers, he didn't want to but those people and himself in a vulnerable situation. But the videos will continue to be put in front of people if that's what they are watching. This channel 'Roads home' was started to show people they have the freedom to explore and if they didn't have the ability then they could just follow us along. We hope you continue to watch, Mark is currently editing our next video. And if you want a laugh, this is the only vlog featuring 'The Drove' its certainly not rosey. kzitem.info/news/bejne/rZ-BroOfoIZpqXosi=HAp_3arluslYjV_G I challenge you to watch my first attempt at paddle boarding without laughing. @@Roadshome It saddens me to see that the videos will provide very useful evidence to help restrict overnight stays in vehicles to strictly regimented official sites. I think freedom in Britain is something that pretty much ended back in 1985 when the battle of the bean field, showed very clearly that the state would not tolerate groups of people living on the road, and travelling around the country? In modern day "vanlifers" I dont think the state perceives anything to be concerned about, and the videos suggest that the vast majority are very happy to toe the line, and certainly have nothing much in common with those going to Stonehenge festival in the 80s.

So many bigger vanlife channels Kevin that are not doing anything. Yes there are many YTers speaking out but the vanlife motorhome and campervan channels are not stepping up. Maybe I put it across in the wrong.
