So refreshing to see a "normal" vegan grocery haul where not everything is either super expensive organic vegan gourmet foods or raw fruit! Love that you included treats as well, let's be honest everyone needs some from time to time. This is one of the few vegan hauls I've watched that seems completely "real". Thank you!

it's great that you are buying lots of things in bigger bags, that way you reduce your waste tremendously (vs. buying a ton of small bags). I just wish potatoes wouldn't come wrapped in plastic at all the supermarkets although sainsburys now offers some loose as well which is great! chickpeas are my favorite, they are the best :)

This is exacly why I fell in love with your channel. Normal, cheap, accessible food. It makes it more relatable to a bigger audience that does not have vegan food replacers. On another hand, your groceries are pretty similar to mine. I usually get original and unsweetened almond milk (one for cooking savory stuff and other for the rest). I buy a lot more fruit because I looooove smoothies (plus, tropical island xD). Peanut butter and jelly because love. Some soups for when I am REALLY lazy. Avocados are a must if they are in season. Other things like pancake mixture, oatmeal, lots of tomatos and onions and such.

Hi Rose :) Did you know about the quick soak bean method? It is really great in a pinch when you need beans and you forget to soak. You just bring your beans to a boil on the stove top with lots of water. Once it is boiling you pull it off the heat and soak for one hour (no more than two hours.) Then you just rinse, drain and cook as normal. I almost always do it this way because I usually forget to soak them at bed time. Also, since you love cooking dried beans so often a pressure cooker might be a good investment for you because they make bean prep seamless and fast!
@CheapLazyVegan

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but the almond milk (and indeed other carton beverages) that has the sticking up 'bar' and the roof shaped lid, denotes, at least in the uk it does, that this is a chilled, conventionally pasteurised product and must be kept refrigerated. Tetra paks with the flat top or a slanted flat top are uht pasteurised.

Just found this out last week but you can freeze already prepared beans so once you've soaked and cooked your dry beans get rid of the liquid and put them in a freezerbag and they should be good for about 6 month in the fridge! Havent tried it out myself yet (have a very small and therefore full freezer but when the space is there I'm for sure trying that! Heard they should taste just the same too!) :) Just thought as an alternative for the canned beans! :) Also, I can seriously recommend Oatlys ikaffe (alt. in coffee (?) I dont know if the title is the same for the english market or not)! Im not vegan yet but working my way there and that oatmilk was by far one of the better milk substitutes for warm bevarges (I've only tried it in tea, never used milk for anything else) but its really good! :)

Pretty cool haul! I would highlight olive oil. In the blue zones of longevity, people consume lots of olive oil. Great with beans, stir fry, soup,base, vegan ,aye, etc. That is definitely a staple. We care for animals here until death do us part, but I can see how the dairy industry would be perceived as cruel if the magnifying glass were to shine on it. Too many animals treated as commodities. Animals are not commodities, they are living, breathing, feeling higher forms of life. I am vegetarian, and use organic dairy very sparingly. I suggest that being a conscientious eater is the best eater, knowing where your food comes from and how...seeking to reduce ecosystem and impacts! Good luck!

Hi, just for information Alpro is a Belgian brand, not a UK one, i didn't know that you can find these in Canada, that's amazing ^^ There is 2 other flavour of pudding (caramel and "milk" chocolate), but also yogurts, deserts, drinkable treats (the berry mix drink is sooo good) and 5 types of non dairy milks :)

The difference between the two different shapes of almond milk packaging is that one is UHT and the other you have you keep in the fridge.

It's probably already been said, but just in case.. emulsifiers E471 and E472e which are in a lot of breads are both animal derived. There' a great app called E Additives where you can search any numbered ingredient on food packaging and it will tell you where it comes from and if there are any known ill effects caused by the additive. There are breads without those additives in them, just have to spend some time checking the labels :)

Those pickles are polish. I really love sauerkraut(pickled cabbage) it's very good for detox, vit c or to make a cabbage soup. It should be next to gherkins on the shelf :)

thank-you for making this video. we keep some of the same staples.. my fruit vary' s .. I keep some of the same basic veggies.. and frozen mixed veggies.. or what ever is on sale. I put my dried products in plastics containers. so bugs won't get to them. and my sugar.. and I put . my flour in the freezer.. stays fresher. and again no bugs.

The almond milk with the flat top is meant to be in a pantry for baking. Almond milk does better in baking when room temperature. The one on the left is meant to be refrigerated. The baking one is great for bake stocking almond milk. Or if you are like me, the smaller size helps when you dont drink it that often.

omg those alpro are soooooo expensive in my country. Crying here its a treat indeed lol I buy them very exceptionaly they are sooooooooo good! Also I love almond milk looooooove unsweetened! but costs 2,70 euro per liter totally out of my budget. I buy the rice milk at Aldi 0,99 cents of a euros liter :) I feel happy for people like you that are abble to enjoy them :) Love your budget recipes and love you!!!
