I haven't a clue how this could get 'disliked'. Beautiful tone, musicality; exquisitely done! Oh that we would heed the text that allows the music to have so much power!

I agree w/you 100%! I'm just learning this now for the first time to sing for Lent. It is so beautiful. But everything by Tomas Luis de Victoria is.

Toujours cette intensité sombre et douloureuse chez Victoria. Un langage musical reconnaissable entre tous !

Yes. This personal language is the mark of genius, as you recognizes Beethoven's works. But his musical language is not always somber. For instance, His vadam et circuibo civitatem is filled with longing and love.

I like the slow tempo. It gives the dissonances and resolutions more drama.

Vere languores nostros ipse tulit, et dolores nostros ipse portavit, cuius livore sanati sumus. Dulce lignum, dulces clavos, dulcia ferens pondera, quae sola fuisti digna sustinere regem caelorum et Dominum.

Where it comes to such fantastic choral renditions of Palestrina, de Victoria, and so forth...the British remain positively incomparable...Thank You!!...

I am Spanish, but I must agree :) Long life to Dufay, Josquin, Victoria, Morales, Byrd, Ockenghem & Palestrina.

@@portchesterkid It seems you share the laughable chauvinism and ignorance of your fellow nationalistic dumb.

What is incomparable is the British chauvinism. Your comment is so vulgar, sir...
