it does the same thing as adding an extra leaf spring but much easier to install and without extra ride height unloaded. what he said about changing ride quality was false though. this effectively increases your spring rate in the rear which will without a doubt make the ride stiffer.

A dump trailer doesn’t work for a lot of the things we do. Due to the type and bulk size of a lot of our debris, plus when I bought my debris trailer, only P&J offered a model that had extended height on the sides. That trailer at the time was $9000 more than I paid for mine. There are many more options today

It's interesting how different (many more options and styles) the trailer market is in the US compared to here in Australia. It's. It's really rare to see a goose-neck trailer here, let alone a dump trailer.
@littlejackalo5326
2 жыл бұрын
Not sure if it's like this in oz, but I think a lot of it has to do with regulations regarding who can pull trailers and licenses and insurance, and over-regulated bureaucratic nonsense. At least that's how it is in Europe. I've talked to Europeans about trucks, trailers, and towing. Europeans are shocked to see a giant pickup pulling a huge trailer, going down the road at 70-75 mph. I think they have a limit of like 80 kph with a trailer. The very first time I drove with an actual drivers license, I drove my dad's ram 2500 V10 long bed with a 14 foot long 14k lbs dump trailer. (I had been driving a F350 dually with a huge 30 foot goose neck horse trailer since I was 14, between two farms. So it wasn't my first time "driving." Just my first time with a license.) I just think that more people in the US are inclined to go out and buy a trailer for personal use. So there is a bigger market for more types of trailers.
@langdons2848
2 жыл бұрын
@@littlejackalo5326 I'm sure that regulation plays a part in it. If you want to drive a "heavy vehicle" - anything over 4.5 tonnes GVM- then you need to be specifically licensed to do so (which requires you complete a one day training course). I don't think that's unreasonable personally but I'm sure it effects the market. Average Joe can't just hook up a 30' goose neck trailer here in Oz, so if you have the "heavy rigid' license then you are probably a commercial operator, so you are more likely to look at a full sized rigid or articulated truck instead of a big pick-up because it let's you do more.

Those RAS springs would be interesting to try. I’ve installed and used things like hellwig helper springs on pickups at the co-op or around the farm when we didn’t want to worry about air systems

Some of these reps just think you're some crazy guy with a selfie-stick....if only they knew what kind of exposure you were about to give them.

Pretty cool how 670,000+ subscribers just got a chance to see the Roadmaster Active Suspension. I’m definitely looking them up!
