Great bunch of pick ups! James White and the Blacks is good but The Contortions Buy is a killer. Half Machine Lip Moves was on heavy rotation for me in 1979. It is still a favourite spin to this day. Les Rallizes Denudes is awesome. Going right over to bandcamp and purchasing everything that is still available. Thank you!

Agree on everything you said. If the Les Rallizes aren’t available on bandcamp, they should be widely released soon. Thanks for watching.

on a roll here Andrew. I'm like you in that I can go pretty deep in with Don Cherry and still feel like there's so much to grab. Always interesting

Andrew man I so glad you back doing videos you videos are so inspiring I dig John Lee Hookerb I have a few of his records I’m definitely going to grab that craft . Don Cherry is a favorite of mine he’s very adventurous which I dig I have Blue Lake OG BYG man that session smokes with Middle eastern passages I dig Don a slight more than Ornette but I dig Ornette too. I need to beef up my blues collection T Bone Walker is a master I never see that record clean. I agree with you so many sellers online lie about condition it pisses me off misgrading and sending the wrong item I’m starting to prefer to stick with brick mortar shop just me ranting awesome 10 pickups Andrew take care. Really appreciate it. Good to be back. Yeah, the online market is changing around me and I can’t handle how many records I’m sending back. That Hooker on Craft is a good pick up. Thanks for watching

I had been on the fence on Burnin, is it all the same songs I already have but you may have conceived me Andrew. I did buy the Oz Tapes last year and recently showed them. I will have to check out the reissues. I bought the Buy The Contortions CD based on a book I was reading. I had no idea what I was getting. Let’s just say I was shocked when I heard it and thought what kind of crap is this lol. Scronky sax! Now what you played I totally enjoyed and may have to pick that up.

Burnin is well done. JLH does record the same songs over and over. If you like the Oz tapes, the reissues are worth checking out. I know Buy can be a hard dive but I think it’s such a great album. The one I played had less Scroky sax but it does make an appearance. Thanks for watching

I have that John Lee Hooker on my list to eventually grab. Craft does good work. Although, this new OJC reissue thing they’re doing is strange. Don Cherry is definitely easier to get into that Coleman. This jazz novice is proof of that. I’ve always wanted Alien Soundtracks by Chrome, but just haven’t pulled the trigger. Good stuff, Andrew. Cheers ✌🏻

Appreciate it. I find the OJC reissue line weird as well. Glad I’m not the only one. The JLH is worth picking up though.

Alex lives near Ben Harper’s shop now if I recall. If you have not read it get Julian Cope’s Japrocksampler. Tough read but worth it for the album info. That Don Cherry is a beauty. Peace.

Very cool about Alex and Ben Harpers shop. I’ll have to check out the Cope book. Don Cherry is always a good choice.

Nice pickups. I forgot about that Ben Harper album but I liked it when it first came out. I've been filling in my John Lee collection as well, I picked up a couple killer comps recently of his early sides recorded in Detroit from the late 40s / early 50s. As the same with Lightnin', I find his heaviest stuff to be the solo recordings without a drummer or full band.

Couldn’t agree more. Without a band but still electric is my favorite version of JLH.

Hey Andrew, if you are digging newer country artists check out Benjamin Tod - Songs I Swear I’d Never Sing. It was one of my favorite records from last year. Cheers, ☘️

I wouldn't disagree that Don Cherry is easier to get into than Ornette Coleman. People should take that with a grain of salt from me. I hardly have an extensive collection of either.
