Yo Andrew. Enjoyed! Wish I had grabbed that Townes box at the time. His demo versions are definitely worth the price of admission. Have the PJ Harvey box too but still need to really dig into it. Takes me a while to digest records, let alone box sets. Diggin these 5/5 episodes though

Awesome Meat Puppets autographs from Curt. I have an autographed poster signed by Curt Kirkwood, Krist Novoselic and Floyd from Sublime when I met them at a Manifest Records gig with the band Eyes Adrift. Curt didn’t seem happy about the planned autograph session but Krist was super cool.

The Endless Boogie album is awesome. Paul Major is one very cool dude. I have liked the Meat Puppets since I first heard a tune they performed on the Monitor album. It's unfortunate when the artist do not appreciate the fans that allow them to do what they love, still a cool experience. Great video...thanks

Most of my signed records are by obscure lounge acts that sold their private press records at whatever club they played at. My best signed record is Swinging Sounds vol. 4 by Shelly Manne & his men. It is signed by all the players ( Charlie Mariano, Russ Freeman, Leroy Vinnegar, Stu Williamson) and of course Shelly. This was owned by my father John Guerin who played with Zappa & Joni Mitchell among others, so I know it's legit.

Very cool Endless Boogie album. Also the sample from Dead Moon really sounded good. I struggle with all the studio takes as I just don’t take the ti e to sit there and really listen and disseminate the difference. I thinks it’s great how you enjoy doing that. I myself have really laid off the box sets, I just rarely play them. Look forward to seeing you in a couple weeks.

Any of the classic Guided By Voices albums make for a good entry point. I agree with your choice for The Fall. Good to start at the beginning and work out. In1978 when The Falls first single came out I said that The Fall would be prolific and be around for a very long time. Nobody believed me. Great video Andrew. Always a pleasure to watch and learn.

Bee Thousand, Alien Lanes, Under the Bushes Under Stars - all three perfect entry points. Thing is, I can see people getting into those early-2000s albums too. They are more accessible. As time as passed, I find that I just don’t like the Flaming Lips as much as I thought I did. I love Clouds Taste Metallic and The Soft Bulletin. Yoshimi is cool, too. Everything else is a little more hit and miss for me. The Fall is a great choice, too. I only have one of their albums on vinyl. I keep hoping to find more used in the wild, and it just never happens. Because King Gizzard is so different from album to album, that’s why it’s difficult for me to get into them. Other bands with large discographies I struggle getting into are (The) O(h)-(C)Sees and The Mountain Goats. Excellent choices all around with those compilations. I discovered those American Soul Music comps kind of late in the game. I have 4 of them though. The out-of-print ones are super pricey online. The Strut compilations are fantastic as well. Great stuff, Andrew. Cheers!

In A Priest Driven Ambulance is my third favorite album of all time. I love the Lips all the way up to Zaireeka, and more often than not after that but the two with Jonathan Donahue are tops for me. Alien Lanes is my favorite GBV, also probably top 10 of the 90s for me. I think the trick them, The Fall and King Gizzard isn't so much where you start as it is that you keep going for a while. With all three of them what's going to hook you isn't one album blowing you away, it's how big a stack of totally solid albums with no true stinkers they managed put out. Thanks for posting, it's good to have you back!

In my experience from KSCL Louisiana around 1992, the radio promos from indies didnt always have a big PROMO stamp or notation on it, sometimes a corner cut or even a perfect copy with just an accompanied letter info sheet. I was really excited about the Dead Moon set, but thrn learned its exactly the same as the previous Sub pop 2xCD conp just on wax. Oh well
