How brilliant people throughout the decades figured all of this out is truly remarkable.

Absolutely love the level of detail, imagery and explanations. The innate immunity class and this class are me favourite. Can we please talk in depth about Germinal Centres!

Igm is happening at the same time as IGG,, I had thought IGM preceded IGG and IGA. Interesting lecture. I didn't catch that last year. The work that Professor Vincent Puts into these lectures every year really helps illuminate various aspects, makes a difference.

I wondered that too. I think sometimes some of the detail is 'smoothed out', the course is an overview of each topic. I suspect the real hard work starts when you drill down deep into each of them.

Brianne Barker, who joins TWiV once a week, has her own immunology course up on KZitem. I just checked, you only need to type in her name to find it.

Dr Vincent this has been a good explanation learning our defenses and the coronavirus respond in humans.

so if human cytomegalovirus (hcmv) dampens mhcII transcription (which is what all antigen based immune response depends on), does that mean people carrying hcmv (which is like 50%+ people) have compromised immunity against all infections that need mhcII antigen based defenses?

Do not agree with the statements that innate immune responses have no memory, and that inflammation is necessary for a functional immune response. Obviously there is so much we don’t know about natural immunity, and not enough detailed inquiry into this area.
