You should know that vitamin C deficiency is a disease: SCORBUT which can cause bleeding gums, joint, muscle pain and a comas and death of the patient in the most serious cases. This disease is less and less common in our society.
Taking vitamin C may be advisable to fight against fatigue and increase its immune defenses.
Pregnant women and people who smoke have an increased need for vitamin C.
The recommendations are:
- 100 mg / day for adults
- 120 mg / day for the pregnant woman
- 200 to 250 mg / day for smokers
Food sources of vitamin C are: chilli pepper, pepper, citrus fruit such as orange, lemon or grapefruit as well as spinach and strawberry.
Finally, know that vitamin C does not withstand heat so it is recommended to eat all these raw foods.
