Hi, Dr. Taylor. Thank you for all you do. An unrelated question - are eye floaters and vision deterioration symptoms of menopause? If yes, would you consider filming a video on eye health too? 😊

I have eye floaters too. I’d love to know as well if it’s related to menopause
@tatjanamivanovic

C’est Moi it is not , its related to aging same way in women and in men, vitreous (jelly part of the eye) starts to liquify and pulls on retina in the eyes and causes the floaters, if they suddenly increase in amount and you get shower of them, you need to see an ophthalmologist. I’ve worked in the field for a long time so I know this for sure.

Why is it that a huge majority of GYN's won'r or don't use bio identical hormones for patients in need? Is it lack of knowledge? I respect your opinion so much. I searched out and found a Doctor that implements this treatment. I'm excited to start. I have been having horrible symptoms since my mid 40's. Now 52, after much research I've realized its not all in my head and I dont' need to suffer with these symptoms!

Gen, It's obvious from the way you posed your question that you do not understand the definition of "bioidentical hormones." You are woefully misinformed. The truth is that 9-% of pharmaceutical hormones for HRT ... and described by physicians ... ARE bioidentical. You are confusing the terms "bioidentical" and "compounded." You really NEED to understand this. PLEASE, please, schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I'll make sure you have the education you deserve so that you can get whatever you want. With your current misunderstanding, you are in for a lot of unpleasant surprises.

Hello doctor Taylor I believe you said that it is impossible to get enough estrogen by eating estrogen rich food so is it possible to maintain required vitamin and mineral levels by eating balanced diet? I limited my animal foods to eggs only and I am eating lots of vegetables plus all the other healthy foods you mentioned but I am really not sure if I am getting what my body needs. Do you have some way of figuring it out? I changed my eating habits and see that I am less hungry and feel sooo much better. By the way I start and end my days by watching your videos 😊 Thank you for all you do ❤

Food is a much BETTER way to get your vitamins, minerals, and supplements than taking them out of a bottle. The key is that it has to be fresh, non-processed food. PLEASE, do not extrapolate what I teach you. I am very specific for a reason. Each video is very specific for one lesson.

I'm so glad you explained in detail which vitamins., minerals and supplements and in which dosages! And charts! I love charts. Given, if the dosage is the same, are all vitamins, minerals, and supplements sources created equal. Are there differences in quality among brands etc.?

You have hit upon the big problem with the vitamin, mineral, supplement, and herb industries: They are completely unregulated. There are no standards, no research, and no one is looking over their shoulders to ensure that you're getting what they say you're getting. And there is no way for you to find out anything about these products. This is in sharp contrast to FDA-approved drugs in which the oversight and regulatory standards are excessive. That's why you get a huge package insert with all sorts of warnings that scare you to death with pharmaceutical products, and you get nothing with vitamins, minerals, supplements, and herbs. It's not that they don't have risks, it's just that they are not required to tell you about the risks. The funny thing is that the public perceives the products in the unregulated industries as safer.

I take supplements but every time I look at them before ingesting them I think. “ These look and feel like processed concrete in my mouth! I try to avoid “processed” foods and stick with whole foods from the earth in their most natural, unprocessed state so why am I taking these extremely processed vitamins and supplements that I really don’t know what’s in them like fillers, nickel etc? And where do they come from? Since they’re not regulated I’m often questioning myself. What is actually in these supplements I’m taking? So I guess I’m looking for reassurance that supplements actually are safe. Any ideas? Also I keep seeing reports that when they are tested, often the dosage is not consistent with what’s supposed to be in them. No quality assurance. Which brands can you really trust?
@MenopauseTaylor
5 жыл бұрын
You are correct. There is no way to know if any vitamin, mineral, supplement, or herb is safe. The industries are entirely unregulated and you cannot know what you're getting. It's ironic that that public perceives these synthetic, unregulated, contaminated, adulterated substances as safe. There is no research, no oversight, and no requirement to divulge any of their risks.

Think you misheard what I said in the video. I said that th e dosage of niacin necessary to reduce your risk of heart attack is 1.5 - 3 GRAMS, not MILLIGRAMS. Your 20 mg is a very low dosage of niacin. If you take it regularly, it should be fine. But don't expect that dosage to be enough to prevent a heart attack.
