Purely comes down to lack of brand awareness in the UAE, Volvo deserves more presence in the UAE from it's current levels. In other markets Volvo are almost equally priced compared to German rivals. Here there is huge gap between the same class of volvo and German trio. Especially Mercedes, on road price or C class one can get BMW 5 series or top end Volvo S90. Also Volvo's leasing program is excellent value for money.

Very well said Sampath and we fully agree with you. They are great cars and deserve way more recognition.

I think it is the lack of awareness among people that Volvos don't sell in good numbers here. The reason for that might be the lack of marketing by Volvo though it has such fabulous offerings. And one question, if the S60 is so exceptional, does it eliminate the need for an S90 ? I find the S60 to be an exactly smaller version of the S90.

Hi Neel, Although the S60 and S90 are quite similar in their offerings, the big differentiation is the size. Despite having very similar features, the S60 and S90 do cater to different segments of the market, in the same fashion that E-Class and S-Class buyers are quite different.

I have been asking myself the same question why? why we don't see much of Volvo cars in our roads🤔..

It could be down to the positioning of the brand. Many young people, would rather say they drive an Audi, BMW, or Merc because these are positioned as cool, trendy brands. Volvo on the other hand, even though their cars are EXCELLENT, are sadly positioned as more of an old person's car...

Good review. How is that legal to have a speed camera detection? Isn't it like cheating in an exam?

Because dealer support is very week compared to Audi, Merc or bmw. It's just like visiting a govt office to apply for a building permit.

Hope you have visited all these showrooms. Try getting useful information such as service history or price from the German showrooms.. Even after being an owner of vehicle the treatment of customers in the German trio tends to be pathetic to say the least. I have felt the most comfortable in Volvo dealership compared to the rest. They have excellent service team in Volvo

@@SampathKumar-se1hk it's not about the behaviour it's about availablity of parts, quality and how quickly can reapir and service cost.

@@ssnair3821 I completely agree with the availability of parts for German cars is much more prevalent in the market compared to Volvo. However, what I do not agree is the prices of this parts, time taken for service and cost in dealerships, even within warranty a simple brake fliud change would require me to leave the vehicle in the dealership for a day and once out of warranty the German trio tend to be very expensive. The dealerships monopolistic attitude in Dubai has been bad to say the least for the german cars.
