I've started just playing your videos while I have morning coffee. Dun matter the subject, it all helps or will help when I hear someone mention a issue I've heard you share knowledge on. Thanks for making bug stewardship EZGZ-ier.

Also if you are in a hot climate like Arizona, route the fuel line away from the intake manifold and closer to the side of the engine bay. I did this about two summers ago and never had a problem since. Great video GZ

Great information. I know my dad when I was a kid he had a 1954 Chevy pickup he would put clothespins on the fuel line. To help dissipate the heat.

Good morning EzGZ another excellent video by the way. I recently on my Manx went through five months of nightmares trying to cure a vapor lock problem. You might have this person look at swapping out their distributor if they have electronic. That’s what mine turned out to be! It mimicked vapor lock perfectly. It was a brand new electronic distributor. I went to points and everything’s perfect again. By the way on my first test drive I went through a 4 inch deep Creek. So I don’t recommend electronic for off road. Have a great day. Vic The Dick Ferrari (nickname earned at Stevenson Chevrolet golden Colorado when I crashed a Corvette as a lot man in 1984)! Lol

Yup, I routinely sand down the outside of the fuel pump stand and coated the inside with pure silicone .I've actually had the rubber fuel line collapse and pinch off the fuel flow. Sometimes a nice piece of neopreme racing line will prevent that

What if my fuel rod guide is very stuck in the engine? and it doesn't seem like there is a gasket under it. And possibly leaking fuel. Would this cause over heating? Currently experiences vapor lock after shutting the engine off and upon restart up to 1.5-2 hours after shut off. The engine is getting very hot and I can see the gas boiling in the fuel filter. I've checked everything else. Timing is good, points are good, no oil leak, metal fuel line not touching manifold, no big visible gaps around engine compartment . Any suggestions?

If your fuel rod is stuck it will vapor lock and have a lean condition which definitely will cause overheating. My 66 would vapor lock with a free moving fuel rod and a viewer told me to take a tennis ball and cut a hole in it so it would fit over the engine deck lid latch at the bottom. This allowed enough outside air to flow over the fuel pump and stop the boiling. I'm puzzled that your fuel rod is stuck. I would remove the fuel pump and the phenolic fuel rod holder from the engine when everything is cold. If the holder fits to tight inside the engine at the end of the stem. You can file or sand off some material on the outside of the Rod holder. Sometimes those are tight and when the engine block gets hot it will squeeze on the rod and stop it from moving the fuel pump which in tern causes over heating and vapor lock.

You will have to back off the star adjusters from the back bottom side of the backing plate and remove the axle nut. Might be a bearing. Is it IRS or Swing?

I just get the low pressure rotory pump that everyone sells. I don't like the clicking that the faucet pumps make. I still regulate down to lower pressures depending on engine and where I'm driving
