Excellent idea. I glued thin magnets under each load for swift removal .

I used to ask kindly for a lump of coal from the fireman at any preserved railway I visited when I was a kid, normally got a strange look, little did they know they were filling my model mineral wagons for free.

Spot on, would never thought of using sponge but you have show how effective it looks and the right scale for what you want. Nice one Cheers Peter

That's a good idea! You can even take the load out again for the return empty run of the train!

Hi. I use the same method and like the effect. Have found that a small piece of foam under the load can give a nice mound shape, this works well with the 16t mineral wagons. Great videos by the way, keep them coming

Nice one 👍👍. The next trick is "how do you empty them?" 🙄🙄 Of nce 'on scene' there is no subtle way to empty them. At home the hand in the sky doesn't matter swooping down to remove a load. At exhibitions however, loaded wagons go into a siding, and out again. The only way is to have a hidden section where loads can be removed from sight, a building for instance, or off stage left/right. Ummm . . . reminds of the chicken and the egg . . . .
