hey maangchi, for days i've been watching this video hoping that i could get hold of those dried persimmons, since it's really difficult to get them here, and u know what, my mum just got them from Thailand and im gonna make them now! and i have walnuts just in case.LOL...thanks maangchi for the great recipe!

The persimmons must be too dry. Add some honey inside the gotgam to make it sticky before rolling. Choose softer gotgam. : )

Oh, My! In my country we make candies - chocolate dipped, dried apricots stuffed with walnut! I love persimmons. Have a box of fresh ones. Need to figure out what to do with them, since they start to ripen all at once.

Hi Maangchi, Your new hair style looks just great! I made a version of this today using dried apricots. They were small so I used half the walnut only instead of stacking two halves. I put dried sweetened cranberries along the row of walnut halves. They were so pretty! And delicious too.

+Maangchi! Love your hairstyle here! So preeeetty. :D I made so many of your recipes! I made gaji-namul, first time. Then I made, Toeng-bacchu kimchi - Wow! I never imagined I could make kimchi although my sister in law is Korean and I always thought it's so difficult and I never wanted to learn. Alway buying. Now, I can save so much money, as I have two big heads of napa cabbage kimchi and lots of for the next weeks to come! I also made kimchi soup - which both me and finance , we love! Always fighting over who eats more. hahah! And in about one week - I will make BAP-DODUK! Rice thief! one bowl, two bowl... Third bowl.. I am so excited. All the ingredients are in my freezer (like the sliced pork belly which I bought from the Korean supermarket nearby) Also, I learnt so many new methods of cooking from you, like boiling the vegetables and then giving them bath in cold water! so green - Just like you said. I love it! Thank you! Love, May Lin

Hey, I posted this on the website too, want to make sure I get the go-ahead before proceeding with this idea. I've been buying frozen persimmons at a local grocery store, just to nosh on. I wonder if I defrost them and let them get all soft and squishy if I could then use them for this recipe. They usually defrost very quickly and are also reallyt good in salads. (I googled persimmon, which is how I found your site. Thanks!)

Thanks Maangchi, I just completed my own gotgamssam and they didn't turn out as great as yours, maybe I had the wrong persimons? I bought a 4-pack of dried, round persimons covered with powdered sugar and the weren't as "co-operative" as yours seemed to be, am I right? :)
