Thanks for camera vid. that was great to see. Times have changed. Back in the day I was using a Nikonos IV-A. This was a 35mm. under water camera. I had Bracketer's for different close up shots . Some of the dive boats had processing on board. This was nice so when I got home there was something show people. I let people run the slide projector so they can run to show. Try a Night a Night dive !!!!

I clicked on the cute puppy! Very cool to get this insight from someone who could have their own production team if they wanted to. Saw some tips that will help me with my channel. Thank you.

Pro editor here.....and that's what keeps me watching your channel (aside from the vicarious lifestlyle stuff....TV doesn't pay that great in Atlanta). Your post production is great and it's obvious you have a long background with it.

Alan thanks for a great channel. I had hopes of starting a channel and the Great Loop this fall, but life got in the way. So it’s on for next year, that’s why your videos are such an inspiration to me.

Great video Alan. I enjoyed the insight into your hardware setup. How about a video on workflow and structuring the story for a youtube episode.

Upgrade the GH5 to a Sony FX3 - I love mine, auto focus is out of this world, paired with Sony's ECM- B1M mic, not more cables on the microphone nor messing with batteries on the mic. Love all your edits! Keep up the great work! I agree 100% regarding the edit is where all the magic is, parents ask me all the time about getting there kids a gopro, if they don't plan on doing some type of edit with the raw footage, I don't recommend them.

This is fascinating. It caught my eye since my son is getting his start in film. Any recommendations on a way to grow and break into more of a long format editing opportunity in such a competitive industry? (Any possibilities to do this without moving to CA?)

Not sailing but I loved it. I too am a gadget junkie. I almost went broke in the 70's and 80's trying to keep up with new technology!! You answered a lot of questions. However, I do have one if you read this. When do you wear the cordless mic and do your subjects ever wear one as well when you are shooting? Maybe a short video on editing would be cool. I have Final Cut Pro and laughed when you said "quick and easy". I must of missed that tutorial, ha. Paul and Linda S/V The Friendly Confines

Sony. Check out the video for the exact one. Mostly I just use the GoPro audio. I lay a plug in on it to enhance the sound. Thanks for watching
