Warwickshire Hunt - Fox Farm, Todenham - Saturday 25th November 2023
After meeting at Fox Farm, convicted huntsman Will Goffe took the hounds straight out onto the road all the way up to Lord Willoughby de Broke, David Verney’s land. Here Goffe spent the first two hours of the day running away from sabs, occasionally stopping to hunt a field of elephant grasses before swiftly moving away as sabs approached.
He then moved on to Ditchford Farm to hunt Ditchford Gorse next to the busy Fosse Way, it was here that sabs caught back up with him and immediately saw hunt member James Froggot riding his horse towards a fox to try to head it back towards the hounds. Luckily the fox doubled back and carried on the way it had wanted to run originally, well away from the hounds.
Goffe then took the hounds onto the dismantled railway before crossing over the road and onto Robert Anthony Hamilton Wills Batsford Estate. He continued to follow the dismantled railway to Lower Leamington where he crossed the road and spent the final part of the day hunting Petra Louisa Johnston’s Wolford Wood, which happens to be an SSSI. We’re not sure it’s appropriate that Johnston allowed the Warwickshire Hunt let their hounds rampage through an SSSI
