it is right for you to be suade by the plaintiff at this point in the trial. It is their job to play on your emotions and ignore evidence contrary to what they want to prove. Monetary Justice will come after defense presents it side with professional testimony and documentation as to why they did what they did. The judge reminded the jury yesterday that their minds should still be open as there are still weeks of testimony to be heard. The loss of Beata will never be justified. She will always be gone. Beata made that choice. Losing a parent to s**** will always be haunting. They will question everything about what they did and said leading up to her death and wonder how they could have prevented her from doing what she did. @@rrtcad That's right. I totally agree. Hospitals and courts are not out to take children away from parents for no reason. When the defense presents its case, we will get the details and documentation as to why they did in this case. If folks will listen to Sally Smith's deposition without emotions, we got a snippet of what is to come. 3 months seemed like a long time. Through my volunteer work with child advocacy, I learned that the courts want to return children to their parents as soon as possible. (sometimes, the courts have to step in a second time when the parent(s) put the child in danger again.) Had the mother cooperated with the courts, undergone psychiatric evaluations, acknowledge that our FDA has(had) valid reasons for what do and do not allow (referring to the ketamine coma, etc.) she would have first gotten supervised visits and later custody of Maya would have been returned. I am not judging the mother. She was desperately, grasping for anything that she thought would cure or help her daughter. I think Dr. K made inappropriate and false statements and her last conversation with him the catalyst for her death. Some liked his testimony, I saw a lot wrong with it. No doubt Beata loved her daughter, and that love for her caused her to lose sight of what was best for Maya.

Just watched the documentary on Netflix, shed some tears. My heart goes out to the family. It’s shameful how unprofessional the doctors/nurses were regarding many of their patients/& their families, especially Maya. If a parent believes what they’re doing is best for the child, I don’t think anyone else should have a say so into thinking what may be considered better. I hope this family receives all the justice they deserve 🫶🏼

the Netflix documentary was not a documentary; it was the plaintiff's argument. You haven't heard the other side's view of the situation, yet you say a parent's beliefs are sacred. In your world, there would be no child protection services, no juvenile courts, no school system; parents would "own" their children like some people own dogs and cats. I believe instead that parents should be obliged to respect their children; and to respect their children's human right to not be indoctrinated and mentally enslaved by institutions that are havens for paedophiles and narcissists claiming the authority of an imaginary God.

@@truetoindia Maya's (and Beata's) situation was heartbreaking, i absolutely and unreservedly agree. And if i were asked, i would say that Dr Smith jumped the gun, even if she did have good reason to suspect Munchausen's by Proxy, although i think it's fair to say events demonstrated that it wasn't, because Maya's condition persisted even when Beata was denied physical access to her. But - and it's a very very big "but" - Smith wasn't completely wrong to think that Beata was a partial cause of Maya's condition. She wasn't causing Maya harm on purpose, but, there was a psychogenetic component to Maya's condition, which Beata's own anxiety about it transmitted itself to Maya, making the condition more entrenched. It took a year for Maya's muscles to recover, but she did get better by herself once Beata was not fluttering over her, transmitting worry to the child. i recommend you watch the YT video "a doctor reacts to take care of Maya" which is a commentary by a senior psychiatrist, which i personally think Maya herself should watch, as it would be very helpful to her. Because what she's doing right now is not good for her, it's only increasing her stress.
