The Dean-Dime-Debacle is a sensitive issue to a lot of people. Best case scenario is Dean and the Dime estate come to an agreement. And Dean builds a better quality guitar to represent the Dimebag legacy. I think Dimes estate being associated with any other brand (aside from Washburn) just wouldn’t go over well. Ola is a great guy, and no doubt would be a great ambassador for Dimes legacy. But the fact that Dime never played a Solar would make it a bit hollow and cloud the situation even more. I don’t think it’s the right move personally. But that’s just my opinion. Nothing more. Regardless, Dean can continue to make the ML. So I think it would be in Rita’s best interest to iron out a deal that is respectable to the Dime legacy and fair to both parties. Emotions run high with this one. Just hope cooler heads prevail. RIP Dimebag and Big Vin.🤘🏻

lets be realistic here for a second: the estate sued Dean and is looking for nothing else than biggest bottom line. switching to a minor speciality brand peddled by a youtuber? nah, not gonna happen. Solar guitars just does not have the money to pay the Dime estate the licensing fee. I'd say even "custom shop level guitars", something hunter thinks plays a major role, is completely irrelevant from the estate side of things - and totally up to the guitar manifacturer once they aquiered the license. The deal will go something like this: contract saying one to two million for a start, after that something like 15% per sold unit. Most brands are way to small for anything like that. Its gonna be ESP, Gibson, Fender (or one of their subbrands). Even Schecter does not have the bang needed for that.

My curiosity is about going way back before Dean as to why Dime really left Washburn in the first place. He was with them for ten years. I even owned a USA Southern Cross and it was lush. In fact I remember there was this kind of odd tension with Dime going to Dean at a certain time period and appeared there was speculation that Dime ALLEGEDLY left Washburn months before he was legally allowed to do so....NOT sure, just commenting on faint memories from magazines and video interviews from the 2004/2005 time period. In fact, there was one article that Washburn had a couple hundred outstanding/unfinished USA Dimebag models (slime/bolt/black/Southern Cross finishes) that had been ordered and paid for and Washburn was STILL obligated to complete those guitar builds under that highly speculated about contract discussed in magazines and online. I am NOT a legal expert or attorney, just reflecting on information seen in different places in magazines and online. Even Eric McKenna owner of "Boogie Street Guitars," a massive online Washburn Guitar dealer, allegedly said in an interview something to the affect that "Dimebag and Washburn's relationship did not end amicably." Anyways, sorry for the ramble, I am just like so many rabid Pantera and Dimebag fans out there who love Dimebag's legacy and guitar designs.

The actual outcome(who gets what) is, to me, irrelevant. The important thing(the only thing in my opinion) is that whoever does end up winning preserves Dimebag's(as well as Vinnie's because you can't talk about one without including the other) legacy. That isn't just the most important point, but in my opinion, should be the ONLY consideration. On a happier note, after your Grandmeister Deluxe 40 review(I have decided to get one because of it, though after I get an EVH 5150 III Stealth 50 watt 6L6) I'm super excited for your take on the Black Spirit 200! That’s actually a great thought. I’ve been thinking if it’s not dean or Washburn then it can’t exist because St. Dime never played the schecters or solars or anything else. And I’ve been pondering who could be the best fit. Dean owns the ML shape so it’s not going anywhere unless Gibson’s suit against dean takes it away from them. Highly unlikely tho. So the only shapes that the estate can legally leave with are the stealth and Razorback and the v which he also didn’t play. Plus the artwork. But the Washburn d3 was just different enough that you can’t hardly tell the difference in the ML and the d3 so maybe they could take that with them. Either way this is a slippery slope and I hope that it doesn’t hurt the legacy of the legend himself.

I watch all your amp review videos. Often I watch amp reviews as much for the perspective of the individual as I do for the amp. I'll combine the perspective of my 10 or 12 go to reviewers for a certain type of amp, and/or different areas and genres of music. As someone with a few decades of playing guitar and bass, with pretty diverse tastes, musically, a very diverse group of established clientele, and recently a growing, and even more widely diverse customer base, for the custom guitar and bass building business my wife and I started a few years back, I need an equally diverse and widely varied set of perspectives, widely ranging not only musical taste but in age, geographic location, gender, and personal aspirations and goals as a musician. So, absolutely yes, the Revv amp, yes, and you know what, f*** it, do all of them, and do them Justice. I've been without a guitar amp for several years now and head to part with my much-beloved Ampeg SVT 4 Pro, which was my favorite bass amp out of everything I have played through let alone everything I have owned over the years.

Soooo I’ve played guitar for 16 years now and my first real guitar was a tribute ML and I absolutely love it. I went on to buy a snakeskin stealth and shards Razorback and I love those as well but I noticed after like 2008 the quality of the guitars had started to go down hill. I ordered in another Dean, I can’t remember what one but it was a Dime model and just thinking it felt like shit, the Floyd felt cheap it was not to my liking at all. Ever since I’ve got the vibe from Dean guitars that they just don’t give a shit. They make money on dimes name and produce a bunch of different models with different paint jobs printed on em and it honestly made me go else where for guitars, somewhere that gives all it’s got and makes a superior product. It was something that I didn’t really want to do being that the ML and Stealth are my favourite shapes of guitar but it had to be done. Yeah my guess is that you’re right where it’ll be a Dime brand but I would also be down for wylde audio to get it as well. Keep it in the family to some extent and you know Zakk would take upholding Dimes brand very seriously so I guess we will see.

Wasn't a great fan of the stock pickups, the Z-glide neck seemed kind of gimmicky. Like, I was very conscious of it for the first 10-15 minutes of playing it, but afterwards, it didn't seemany more or less smooth than any other satin finished neck. I do kind of miss it, though. Washburn is the only sensible choice

I’ve been saying for years that it looks like Dean only cares about making money off of dime. I’d like to see Washburn get the dime contract and bring back those classics like the southern cross, diamond plate, and stealth.

Ive got no dog in that fight, not a fan of the Dime guitars but I can understand theyre probably not pulling in the big bucks anymore and Dean potentially doesnt need this line anymore. Theres plenty of Dimes out there and this would make them more collectable. I wouldnt even concider a newer model desirable and would want an earlier model. and Ive got photos i took of Sammy Hagar rockin the ML a long time before Dime. And as far as the PANAMA thing, more then a couple Y'tubers have said they were shit, which I hope validates the importance of whom you actually trust to listen to on here.

Whoever says Washburn better have a time machine or a suitcase full of money to buy it from US Music Corp, Randall and Washburn have been basically dead for a minute

I've always felt Dime & Washburn were synonymous, not Dean and Dime, and this is from a Pantera fan from the late 90's.

I really want a dean dime guitar but if solar somehow gets a deal with the estate… I’m copping a solar dime model 1000000000%

Dime being with solar or pulling an Eddie Van Halen or zack Wylde wouldn’t surprise me
