Another great video! I loved your hair at the end of the first day...real life!!!!! This has been such an ordeal for you both getting this barge ready for launching and the transport! Love seeing how calm you are both keeping. 🤗

Thank you for your concern. When we swapped out the D rated tires tires for G rated, we found out that the trailer was rated for 3000lbs more than we originally thought. This allowed for the extra weight. We appreciate your comments and thank you for watching! -Ryan

Call me a nerd… but this stuff is fascinating! From the inspection stations to the explanation about the zebra mussels to the condensation issues to the drilling of a hole in the hull with a MAGNETIC DRILL!!!??? Never knew such a thing existed!!! Love your content! What an experience! What a great way to chill at home for a post (American) holiday (I am off work today but my wife is at work… it is HOT 🥵 out today here in Arkansas, so I am chilling out and getting ready to hit the lake tomorrow on the boat!) Not to get too political, but, after just celebrating our Independence Day yesterday, it looks like our country has devolved to the point where we are about to lose that independence… I hope we can see clear as a country to vote in extending “independence” for at least another 4 years.) Sorry about that… it’s just heavy on my mind these days… Got any suggestions for any other islands that my wife and I can purchase up there in Canada??? We may be looking at Settling into Maple Leaf country come November!😮😮😮😂😂😂

We absolutely love that you are enjoying this journey with us. We've learned so much about things we never had any idea of as well. Oh... and uhhh you don't want to come to Canada. We are not in great shape ourselves - ntgp either but... ugh. Anyhow - - this island was an amazing find and the answer to every single one of our dreams. 💚

Great stuff, we also bought a chipper but had the luxury of getting one that attaches to the tractor. We also did a video on makeshift rainwater collection which is how we got water before building. I believe you are going to face some very similar challenges.

Funny thing is the back of the truck was underwater what if one of those zebra muscles was in the bumper Then you backed the truck in a different lake bang new investigation I know it's not likely because they would probably be dead by the time they made it that far but it could happen.

You are super insightful because that was a slight possibility and something that precautions were taken against as well. I think they had all those possibilities covered when they decontaminated the barge and truck. Great comment, thank you! Thumbs 👍

At the inspection point when they de, musseled your barge i hope the straps were removed first so job was done properly also what about truck and trailer as they were in the lake too
@mywildholm

That was a good observation. The decontaminators were really thorough and I'm sure they had that all in mind as they were 'de-musselling' the barge 😂 I didn't film the entire process. The lake that our barge was in wasn't contaminated at all either so this was just an extra precaution. So glad we did it all though.

I just found your videos and I have watched them up to this point. You guys are living my dream and I am jealous and VERY happy for you. I wish the best for you both and I plan to live my dream life vicariously through you. I wish I could be there with you. Also, if you ever run into a situation you need advice on, I have numerious skills and a wealth of experience. I would be happy to help with information. By the way, I also understand that advice is just that, it's not an order. The final decision is up to you, I won't be offended if you don't take my advice. Again, I truly wish the best for you. Make that island a world you can be proud of.

How's she goin'? Well that was a very intense inspection eh. But like you say, it's good to have this kind of a close inspection as you sure don't want the water around your island to get contaminated. So good for you folks for being so forth coming and agreeable to have what ever is needed done to the barge to keep it as safe as you can!! That was some close getting under that carport thingy!! All clear though. What an adventure you guys are having!! And we're some lucky that you are taking us along with you. Take care!!

Hello folks! This has been a real adventure for sure. We have some of those nasty Zebra mussels around here. That was a tight fit under that roof system. Those nettles are really bad. I've been snagged by those things over the years. People apparently make tea out of them. That drill was pretty cool!! Like I say in my videos " Stay tuned"
