I went to Tokyo Disney a couple of weeks ago. DisneySea is Disney imagineering unleashed without a budget and is incredibly beautiful. That said, Disneyland Resort beats Tokyo Disney hands down in terms of rides. The wait times are brutal (over 2 hours for many rides), fast passes sell out instantly and even the lines for popcorn and churros are 45 minutes.

In Japan they have some really great accessibility things across the big cities. They have been working towards what they call ‘barrier free’ accessibility, covering all aspects of life, from travel and recreation all the way up to working…though I’m sure you found that some theme park stuff is a work in progress (it’s still way above Europe and the US). As they believe in the dignity of being able to work, they’ve even got ways in which paraplegic disabled people can remote control machines in factories, etc. There’s a long road to barrier free, but it’s amazing what they’re doing. Also helps that the wage gap between the highest and lowest earners is much smaller than Europe and the US - the honor of leading/managing being seen as higher value than the money - so generally people in the cities have more disposable income too. Sorry about the waffle, I just find Japan such a fascinating country all round and am LOVING this series 😊 you guys always bring the best videos.

I just want to clarify that the shower/bath combination is actually all part of one process which is more intended for relaxing than just getting clean (although you can absolutelyuse it for that too of course!) The idea is you shower first, then you soak afterwards! Japanese bathing culture/etiquette is surprisingly nuanced (as with most things Japanese!) If you go to a public bathhouse, the ritual gets even more intense! Love enjoying the trip with you guys

I heard from a guy on another channel that lives in Japan that they polled the citizens of Japan on what they wanted Disney Sea to be. The general concensus was that they wanted a place that made the locals feel like they were on vacation somewhere else. It didn't necessarily have to have a bunch of rides but just experiences. I have the same questions you have about the quality of food and items in Japan compared to what is at the parks in U.S., including our own 7-11s. The only answer I can come up with is that the businesses in Japan are serviced by local companies that just have everything on the ball. They take pride in their products and what they offer. They would probably have to import food from Japan companies to U.S. and it would make the costs go up for us. Still...how hard is it to make a fluffy fruit and cream sandwich and put it in our 7-11s?

"Wagyu" beef is literally something that started in Japan. wagyu is a Japanese word. A lot of other places claim they make a "wagyu" style beef but it's almost like comparing sparkling wine to Champagne.

It's great to see all the special needs extras in Japan. We've also got the same floor bumps for blind people here in Australia, you see a lot of it in city CBD's mainly near transport hubs near taxi ranks, bus stops and train stations. We've had them for a number of years now. Public phones are rare to find now though! I kinda laughed at the American restaurant area as The Outback Restaurant is an Americans idea of an Australian themed restaurant and that Guz Y Gomez restaurant is an Australian made Mexican restaurant (created and owned by an American) with multiple chains in Australia and worldwide. Just gave me a little giggle cause Japanese people must love themed restaurants! Shame we no longer have any Hard Rock Cafe's in Australia. We lost the two we had in Surfers Paradise in Queensland and the one in Sydney at Harbourside Darling Harbour (the whole shopping mall it was in was demolished) in the last year or so.

Damn I didn’t know the hard rocks went out of business there

@@OrdinaryAdventures Yup, it was kind of a shock as both were closed a year or so apart. Apparently the Surfers Paradise HRC was having a rent dispute with the Centro Mall owners (they had their restaurant located on the outside of the mall) but also the director and franchisee of both locations had mounting debts equaling $6+ million AUD so both his restaurants were put into voluntary receivership. Don't think there will be another Hard Rock Cafe in Australia again. Sad really, I remember the original HRC location in Sydney back in the 90's. It was fantastic. It's as nostalgic as Planet Hollywood which was opened up in Sydney in the late 90's by Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Jean Claude Van Damme which I was actually at the opening of as a young kid. I believe my Dad still has the photos 😁 Now that location is operating as 'The Star Bar' and has a cheap bistro upstairs with some decent pub style meals and a popular bar downstairs with the lingering after work crowds.

Happy Thanksgiving, Kitra and Peter! Just wanted to let you know that my husband (not a Disney nerd like moi) has been watching these right along with me. You have a new stan! These have just been incredible to watch, but I must say, you are a lot more adventurous than I am with trying various foods. I would probably end up living on rice, lol
