I mean "what do you want me to do about it?" is a very fair question to ask the person enabling him to be a unhinged schizophrenic menace. Id imagine 11 million dollars could afford you some pretty good psychologists and legal council to gain conservatorship over her son in an attempt to save him. Hell, taking him onto that show and giving him the platform he so badly wanted was just another case of the moms' inability to say "no", clearly the dude needs real help or atleast to face some consequences for his cracked behavior

It's not suprising. Those professionals are just jaded. They deal with people at their worst, day in and day out. If they don't look after themselves they'll become desensitized. Phil's interaction with the mother here is a good example of the issue. He's making a valid point. They need to take responsibility. That's true for most problems around mental health. But he's oblivious to the fact that she's come to him for help in how to do that. It might be straightforward but that doesn't make it easy. He's not helping her in what she needs which is support and guidance.

Why do you think the first things they say to you when you see them is, “So what’s going on?” or “What can I do for you?” Yes it’s normal for them to ask those questions, but the odds are that they already know at least partially why you’re there. Just once you wish that they might come in and have an immediate solution for you without tricky or smart alec questions always putting you on the spot.

People in town would avoid him because he often would have violent outbursts or be really inappropriate/ crude towards young women. He was eventually arrested in 2019 for kidnapping and SA. Apparently he had a long history of that type of violence because his dna was linked to an old case in Las Vegas and he was extradited there. That’s not dr Phil. A huge reason for the way you are is your family and the friend group you had growing up. All therapists and psychologists will ask about your childhood. There is some stuff that is biological, but a huge, huge portion is environmental.
@annabellaerwin7659
3 ай бұрын
@allyma3 a persons childhood is not the entirety of the reason why they act the way they do. Whilst it may be a large component, or even a majority, nature also comes into play. People can be raised perfectly and still suffer from mental illnesses, and defects in their personality. Because a lot of mental illnesses and personality disorders such as ASPD (psychopathy) and schizophrenia, stem for defects in the brain, something parents can’t help.
